I tried messaging you through YouTube because you've posted all of my old videos; videos I've made known I preferred stay with the individuals from this community and not be put out for general consumption. I'd appreciate you taking them down. DM them to your friends, whatever. Just please take them off YouTube before my wife (a new mother) makes her way onto a G4TV mockery video or Tosh.0 redemption piece. I've asked you one-on-one through youTube and now I'm asking you here in case you magically missed that message. And if anyone's PM'd with him and knows who it is, please either help me get the message to him or help me contact him.
And please, no bullshit about legalities and whatever (though we could touch on that since he's got a bunch of paid stuff on there too, without attribution). That's not the point here, for me anyway.
And also please no lectures about "well you shouldn't have put it on the internet". No shit. A much younger, dumber version of us figured a niche video would stay within a niche community. Stupid us. I get it. Believe me.
Anyway....not that any of this will work....one last shot before I have to give my personal info (again) to YouTube in a copyright claim. I'd rather not do that.
Also for the record, this guy has posted some copyrighted clips from MessyFun, Phoebe, and WAMF, among others. I'd assume Soundguy, at least, would have a vested interest in seeing the clips pulled, since the first two have stores on Vidown.
Make sure you have the channel link saved. Seems they are changing their profile name around in a futile attempt to avoid attention. Channel links are permanent I believe so it should always be accessible. Not gonna link it here for obvious reasons but you should be able to get it.
Also I have no idea about your personal situation and your information but if this affecting you as much as you say it is, I'd be initiating copyright action on that channel sooner rather than later.
Having the channel get several reports might help getting it down. Don't link it here, but maybe try to get some people you can trust and ask them to do it. Good luck.
I've just this minute checked, and the good news (if we're talking about the same channel) is that although it claims 72 videos they've all been pulled and there's now nothing there at all.
Hopefully he hasn't just re-posted under a different name.
I appreciate the advice and support. Truly. I didn't mean to sound alarmist, it wasn't eating my mind or anything, just frustrating after all these years. I was thinking too, after I posted, that maybe it's a younger and newer member of the community who wasn't around when we first posted and doesn't necessarily know the history. Might also explain why he wasn't up for personal interaction but was willing to act when called on it.
Great to hear the videos were removed from public viewing, although it looks like some were made private whilst others were outright deleted. Make sure to keep an eye on it but hopefully like you said it was a younger viewer not purposefully doing it to spite you and it was all just a somewhat happy misunderstanding.
