What food items do you like to get messy with,

Is it something Sticky like Black Treacle or Golden Syrup,
or is it Bake Beans, Rice pudding, custard ,

But what do you like to get messy wth

The ONLY food item I would even go near now days is black treacle. A little goes a long way, it tastes ok and looks really good and washes off easily and doesn't really leave a strong smell.

Everything else can get in the sea (the bin)

Anything so long as it's thick and smearable. My favourites are probably cake mix and porridge, preferably by the bucketload! Something I'd love to try is marshmallow fluff.

For me custard, cake batter or eggs. I find that anything with lots of dairy (ie yogurt and cream) leaves a trace that is difficult to get rid of

Treacle and golden syrup are great, but both are a bit hard to get in the US unless ordered online (although my local British Store stocks both). Never did like playing with beans, though. Ready-made frosting is excellent - lots of flavors and colors, and even the store brand usually works well. Here in the US we can get pudding in large cans instead of the boxes y'all have - each can is probably the equivalent to three or even four boxes. Lately some of us have been playing with Bavarian Cream, which comes in big heavy containers and can be re-used if not mixed with anything else. Honey, of course, is lovely, and we've also experimented with Ghiradelli brand chocolate and caramel, both of which come in tubes. Cake mix, naturally, is always fun!

Has to be porridge, mostly because you can buy it in large quantities very easily

Lemon curd! (I'm in the UK, US - no idea what it could be called!) smells good, smers nicely and feels amazing.
