So I'm borrowing a friends nice new winter jacket to get messy. They don't know that's what I plan to do tho, and I don't want it to stain. She just got it for next year and said she doesn't mind if I borrow it. It's a waterproof material so I don't think it's gonna stain easily. I figured I'd write a post on here seeing if anyone else has slimmed or gotten a winter jacket or down jacket messy and if so what did you use and was it okay after? The one I'm borrowing is the light weight longer down jacket (pictured)
Any suggestions on what I should use so it doesn't stain?
Any kind of slime or gunge (the kind that you buy in packets) will be fine as long as you wash it afterwards. I'd be careful using food as it can leave a smell. Is the jacket real down or synthetic?
I am a fan of seeing wet/messy jackets/coats and would love to see what you do, however i don't think its nice to do it with your friend's brand new, still with tag on it, coat. Whatever you get on it, the coat will still need to be cleaned which can, i wouldn't say ruin but make it look not so new looking. Personally i would tell her that there is a chance it won't come back exactly as it is now. I don't want to come across as a killjoy, as i said i am a fan of jackets/coats being wet/messy. Whatever you end up doing, i really hope it works out and will love to see anything you end up doing.

It's synthetic, and yeah I might do slime then. I had thought about it before but wasn't sure if it'd be okay. I definitely am not doing food cause I tried it in the past and it is super hard to clean.

I understand the risks, I'm quite good at cleaning these jackets and I'm sure she won't notice. The tags have been removed by her since she's worn it for a week or so now. She just hung it up due to it finally being warm out.
