If you put "Medieval" into the search box, a fair few threads come up, including some impressive AI wam and some scenes we did some years ago with different people in our "medieval wench dress", which we still have and should probably go into the mud at some point, given it's already been worn into the river, and drenched in custard, several times each.
I went to a Renaissance Fair once and it had something called "The Mud Show" which was a skit or skits with the actors falling in mud. At least one was an attractive and attractively dressed woman. Don't know if that annual fair still has it, if other RenFairs have them and never found any pictures online.

My ex-wife use to work at one. They would do a lot of mud stuff especially when it rained and they would slide in the cosumes into the mud. Get doused in water. I even saw a pie fight there.
There are water and mud events at some Ren shows. There is not a lot of media about it.

Mud shows are pretty common at Renfaires, as other people have said (though the main faire I go to got rid of their mud stage a few years ago). After one of the only ones I ever went to, a friend of mine suggested it was my dream job (it was a male/female duo, and the show ended with a skit including the guy crossdressing and having a bucket of mud dumped over his head). If only I could act.
Also at RenFaires, they sometimes have a tomato toss type thing (though it's always a guy, which wouldn't be for everyone, at the one I go to, and generally not very messy). I've always fantasized about a nice pillory scene with medieval clothing, myself.
