yes...nice still...and sadly, it's NOT of Kathleen Turner (but a stunt double)...there have been a few posts about this scene going back many years...the scene is edited so that we see Martin grabbing KT from behind and throwing her forward ("into the mud scum queen!), the a quick cut to his POV showing someone (dressed the same as KT in lingerie) flying face first into the mud pit...we see her come up, mud-covered face to the camera, and her (the stunt double's) audio is then dubbed over with KT's voice...sorry (in case you didn't already know this).

Interesting. I didn't know that. I don't doubt you, but it makes no sense. Obviously, you throw the stunt double into the mud, but why do you need a stunt double for the scene in the pic. Seems like a lot of trouble -- you need a stunt double who looks an awful lot like Kathleen Turner covered in mud and you need to dub in Kathleen Turner's voice. Why not just use Kathleen Turner (it is not a stunt -- she just has mud on her)? Unless Turner was like, " I will do this goofy-ass Steve Martin movie (which is very funny BTW), but I will be damned if you are going to show me covered in mud!" Again, I have no basis for my comment other than common sense -- I don't even much like mud scenes -- but it just seems like an odd thing for them to do.
Eh, maybe she didn't want to be covered in mud for 2 days. (Even a short scene like this? On a big production... Up to 2 days.)
I can't remember the name of the movie (EDIT: Bratty Babies), but there's a scene where Lisa Rinna and Harry Hamlin walk through the door, then get sprayed in the face with very thick yellow cream. And this is back when Rinna still looked good. Only problem... It's very obviously two stunt doubles as the scene is cut so you can't make out their faces before they're covered.
Still a good scene with good coverage (for obvious reasons), but not really celeb WAM in any real sense.
The stunt double was not for her fear of mud. She was on a talk show a couple years ago talking about how Romancing the Stone was her favorite movie, and how fun it was cause she got to do the mud slide six times.
Guys....I'm not sure how you could possibly "agree" that it's KT except for your personal wish fulfillment
I've seen the clip dozens fo times, and now have viewed this still numerous times, and it does not, in any way, "look like KT" ...in fact, it is impossibly to tell who it is (especially if you did not know she was in the scene (say, if you were just looking at the still alone, never having seen the scene)...
If you watch the full scene carefully, if will become obvious that it's a double. AS far as vocal dubbing goes (known as ADR), this is only a slight post production chore for such a short sentence -- longer extensive ADR for entire scenes becomes truly expensive, budget wise) -- but to me, the dubbing is obvious (having done ADR is a few of my legit short films).
Why would she not do the mud scene? Well, several reasons: it may have been specified in her contract that any physical scenes (like being "thrown" into a mud pot) that could result in injury be done by a stunt double. This proviso could have been arranged by her agent (or by KT's suggestion; many actresses on their way up, or newly-found stardom, choose not to do scenes that affront their vanity, like Natalie Wood).
As for KT's statement about doing Jewel of the Nile and getting to do a mud slide, etc. I think that either A) she had grown up and was more relaxed about her self and image (to do the scene), or B) she was lying 'cause she was doing film publicity and fans want to know that it was really her doing all the stunts and getting messy (and she doesn't want to come off as some prissy Diva, which she is, in fact)....kind of like soaps star Susan Lucci lying on a talk show about getting a pie in her face (for that Ford car commercial) when in fact we never see her getting hit, only the aftermath (that looked completely applied).
