Hi I am getting a custom of a model getting gunged but she is using a stationary camera and no other crew. The video I want her to film is a fake ex girlfriend gunging with acting and storyline but if she gunged herself it means rewriting the script. Can someone tell me an inexpensive way to make a self gunging look like someone else triggered the gunge?
I don't mean to rain on your parade but I think if there was a safe inexpensive and easy way of doing this then everyone would have a gunge tank. Having helped design and build one I can tell you that they are neither cheap nor easy to construct. Further more if you cut corners then you could risk injury. I think you're asking a lot of your model too.
I understand the clip would lack the professionalism of messy mayhem, gungetank girls and various others but my problem is that the model is the UK and I am in the USA. If I could I would film on my own and build or order a gungetank but the model is filming on her own and I don't want to pay to build someone else's gungetank which would only be used for one clip. So looking for a diy idea to create the illusion of multi person shoot that can be executed by someone following simple e-mailed institutions.
I was thinking of possible easy solutions like filling a gallon container with gunge suspending it upside down and attaching a thread or fishing line to the cap and pulling it while performing an over the top reaction. Maybe a bucket suspended from a shower rod then flipped by a pulley. I would love if I could have heard suggestions from self gunging producers and models like the retired gunge lulu, the semi active slimestar or others. My video is a pov of a guy who won a revenge game show, the model is playing the losing ex who starts out sweet but as she sees the ex teasing her with the button resorts to verbal abuse before shrieking in humiliation as the button is pressed and the gunge cascades all over her.
A bucket with a hole cut in the bottom and a toilet repair flapper added could be activated by a piece of fishing line. The main thing would be having somewhere stable to hang it from

Gungetanks can be made pretty easily and cheaply; the one I made for myself cost me no more than £15 to make, including the materials and the tools used to make it, most of which came from a DIY store.
In terms of safety, I think common sense is the overall best policy to use in this instance. Clearly you should not use something unless you're 100% confident that you're not likely to cause an injury to yourself and/or damage to your surroundings. I always check my device over prior to using it and run a quick test with some water first in order to make sure no additional holes and/or leakage occurs.

Essentially JD_ is correct. My gungetank (check out the photos in my profile!) is simply a wooden square pole threaded through a washing up bowl. A circular hole is cut into the bottom of said bowl with a cone attached to the end, which was fixed to the bowl using super strength glue and tape. The ends of the wooden pole are cut diagonally so that it fits snug across the top of my quarter-circle shower unit and the ends met flush with the wall.
The release mechanism is a tapered cork held in place with string fixed to it as a pull chord.

The biggest hurdle I can see for you is that it would depend on what facilities are available in which to do the custom, but I guess you would need to have a bit of more of an in-depth discussion with your chosen model in order to see what options they have. If you ask them how their DIY skills are and as long as you offered to pay for the materials to make the tank, then perhaps they would be able to make it work that way?
Add me as a friend and PM me if you need/want any further help.
... in a worst-case scenario, with the right software it should be possible to edit in a static image over the top of the footage which would look like a gungetank - with the right pose, it could cover the girl's arm and make it look like a tank had activated.
... but that's probably not what you'd be looking for.

That is by no means a bad suggestion but I'd say that for many people having a "gunge tank", as in something that could at least loosely be seen as a mechanical or automated device, really adds something to the scene. The device itself really forms it's own part of the scene/fantasy.
Being gunged by someone with a bucket and a ladder or by sitting in a gunge tank are two different experiences.

That maybe but in this point where it's a one off custom and the model is going to have to make and pull the leaver herself they'll hardly be the same climax...? She'll know exactly when it's coming... At least with someone else doing it they'll still be the element of timing surprise...? Yes? No?

The model says that she doesn't have anyone to assist her, if she did, that would be my ideal solution but I am trying to figure out a work around, worst case scenario I have an alternate burlesque sketch filled with puns
