I have very, very vague memories of at least one pie skit from the mid 90's show 'Home and Family', hosted by Michael Berger (of 'The New Family Challenge.') I only ever saw a commercial for the show, so, and that was 20+ years ago, so not sure how much help I can be.
It had a very brief montage of clips from the show. Among them, what looked like a pie skit. At least two people were pied, of the smoosh in face and smear around variety. I think there was one man and one woman. It looked like they had both finished saying something, so it seemed like a skit of some sort, rather than a surprise. I remember they were... standing up? I think they were white. Apologies for the severe lack of detail, but I only ever saw the commercial once, back in around 1995 or so, so I'm afraid I can't be of much more help than that.
Does anyone else remember seeing this scene (or even the commercial?) This is one of those 'I swear I'm not crazy' moments =]
You are not crazy, I remember this as well. I want to say it was around the summer of 1996. I remember seeing the commercial with quick clips of the pie skit and I had wondered if the female co-host (Christina Ferrare) had gotten pied. She did NOT get pied in the clips featured in the commercial. This particular skit in question happened when Soupy Sales was a guest on the show. It was filmed outside and there was a table of like 20 pies. It was Soupy, Christina, the other host (Chuck Woolery) and the show's producer (Woody Fraser) who, ironically, was also the executive producer of What Would You Do back in the 90s. I always hoped the segment would pop up somewhere to see if Christina actually got pied. There is no guarantee that she actually did. We may never know, but some sort of pie skit did indeed happen on the Home and Family show, circa 1996.
