Let me tell ya 'bout the bad old days gang. Before the internet, we actually had to wait to see WAM on television shows and movies. Damn, you felt like you were the ONLY one in the world who had this weird sexual obsession. Anyway, I still have a softspot for mainstream WAM -- reminds me of my youth -- and I still love to to see mainstream WAM regardless of whether or not producers do the WAM thing MUCH better than Hollywood (they do).
This thread is about those mainstream WAM scenes that you fear you will never see again. Youtube (and, before that, Hurley and WAMTEC) has helped me find a lot of scenes I never thought I'd see again. But here are a couple that I doubt I will ever see again. Post yours, maybe somebody somewhere knows where to find these "lost scenes.'
1. The "oops sketch" from the Electric Company. Rita Moreno is a waitress who messes up a customer and, after every messing says "Oops." The male customer turns the table on her in the end and messes her up. My memory is foggy here but I seem to remember her getting less messed than him -- still, I would LOVE to see this scene again. Of course, these scenes, if you ever see them again, never match memories and expectations, but I would pay decent money (relatively) to have this scene on video. To this day, I search out scenes that are similar -- including MessyGirl's "the customer is always right" scenes.
2. Pie scene from the old Mike Douglas show. Mike Douglas was sort of like a daytime Johnny Carson. Daytime talk show with occasional sketches. One sketch I remember featured, I think, Mike and Paul Anka (old-timey singer). Paul was the bad cowboy, dressed in black and Mike was the good cowboy dressed in white. There was a barmaid in the saloon who was dressed, well, like a barmaid in a western saloon. Beautiful girl -- I don't know who it was -- for a while I remembered her as looking like Blair from the Facts of Life but that does not fit into the timeline (not to make this post longer, but the show had to be shown in 1978 or, maybe, 1977 and Blair would have been too young then). Barmaid would try to help Mike out by giving him a weapon to help him, but Paul would turn each weapon against Mike. She finally hands Mike a pie. He looks at Paul and then looks at the barmaid and, instead of getting bashed again by Paul, decides to pie the barmaid. I have tried to find this clip and to figure out what episode of the Mike Douglas show it occurred on -- but I can't narrow it down.
Sorry about the long post, but I love reading about these lost scenes.

Y'know, this is what I remember too, but in the back of my mind I vaguely recall more mess. And then, one time while searching for the scene on line , someone else wrote about remembering her getting a pie, which was later edited out of later episodes (Electric Company used the same sketches across different episodes).
Back in the late nineties/early millennium one of the shows on "Fox Family Channel" used to have segments where they'd head out in public and get people to do dares (think IBYW before IBYW). One of the dares was a defining moment in the early stages of my WAM/clothes filling interests: They got some blonde woman to have pancake mix and milk poured into her pants before finishing her off with cherry pie filling on top of her head. A memory that stands out to me is the pancake mix overflowing out of the top of her pants by the time they added the milk. I'm pretty positive the show was "The Basement" and the guy with the dreadlocks was the host of that dare. I just remember him approaching her with the offer to make her "a human pancake" and her not being super hard to convince into getting messy. All I recall of her appearance is being blonde, slim, possibly around her 30s, and having black long pants (or jeans) on. If only I didn't suck at the VCR back then I'd probably still have this in my possession. These didn't air like reruns-more like segments in-between commercial breaks for the daily show so...yeah, likely gone forever.
In similar vein, I'm not sure I'll ever find the "All That" On-Air Dares segment where Lisa Foiles has clam chowder poured in her pants. I've found pictures, but no video.
Also I swear I'm not crazy in remember a Conan O' Brien commercial (back when it was Late Night) that aired multiple times in the early millennium (2000-2004). It was a montage of a buch of skits and whatnot from the show and there's a part where a woman dumps a plate of food down her own cleavage. I never saw the sketch it came from but that part of the commercial caught my eye every time. Wish I could find either one.
I remember a game show as a kid that was on at night, probably during the 8 o'clock hour on ABC (I think) in the late 70's. The one event pitted one group against another, each behind a barrier and the last person not pied was the winning side. i think it was ABC since I watched a lot of shows on that chanel be k then.

Nah. Got that one. Judy Graubert was the woman pied. Had a big crush on her when I was little. Semi lost scene involving her and a mechanical clown. "Semi" because the scene is out there but it is chopped up. Would love to have an unedited version.

Yep. The Electric Company scenes are the first pie clips I ever remember... and even as a little kid, I "knew" enough that I loved it when the women got it... and was scared when the guys did.
The "Nasty" clip is a great one for Judy, but the quality of the clip circulating (originally on a Hurley tape) is very poor. Similarly, that "if" sketch with the clown is chopped up, as you mentioned. (Rita is the female but stays clean.)
The "oops" sketch involves Rita and Jim Boyd (who played Crank and probably got pied as much as anyone on that show). My memory is that he gets messed pretty bad, and all Rita gets is soup down her back... But yes, other folks confirm that they chopped the skit for time (and probably parental objections since he poured food in her lap too, which ain't kid friendly). And there WAS a pie at the end.
Now, will this clip ever surface? Who knows. I have both DVD sets but those scenes aren't on either... Also, Amazon has about 30 episodes over two "seasons" (they were taken from all 5 EC seasons tho) but none of those make an appearance. Unfortunately I feel like they're not releasing vintage EC episodes anymore... Shame.
(Speaking of disappointment... The "Spidey Meets The Sack" clip from EC showed on YT a while back. I'd been hunting it for ages. In my head the attractive black female from the later shows got well pied in it. In reality... Nope. Big letdown there...)
I remember a game show in the early 90's. The final event was often "chimney sweep", both final competitors (college age kids) climbed up a "chimney" and then were dumped on. The one that kept themselves wedged in there the longest, won. Love to see these shows again, or some similar recreation.
Not lost to WAM in general, but to me. I once had it on Hurly or Mark Kelly cliptapes. There was a scene with what looked like Elvis or an Elvis lookalike, taking the stage, and a woman in Lingerie runs through and gets pied. From the look of the film quality, it could have actually been Elvis. Anyone know? I always wanted to find a cleaner cap of it, I really like the woman, and her 50's lingerie.

i think a few clips from this show were on one of hurley's cliptapes. Can't remember which one. Wamtec has all those tapes and more now available for download. If I can remember which tape I saw this on I will let you know.
There is one clip I have searched for, to the point where I have looked up list of day time shows to help connect the dots, but to no avail. I remember it was either in 2000 or 2001, because I had just moved into my new house, and I was beginning to catch on to my fetish from watching episodes of Slime Time Live. I was also paranoid that my parents knew about it, so I was afraid to ask them what the name of the show was in fear they would be tipped off. I haven't seen this show before or since, all I know is it came on as we were sitting down for dinner right before the 6 PM news came on. I would have to assume it was the ABC affiliate since that's the news station my parents preferred to watch.
ANYWAY, it had a man and a woman and they were sitting on a bench in front of a studio audience. There seemed to be a lot of old people in the audience. The man had the classic late 90s brown haircut which was short and had the front come up. The woman was either Hispanic or Asian, or maybe she just had a good tan, idk. The show was coming off of commercial going into the final 2 minute segment where the hosts say goodbye. As the camera was zooming in, you see this old woman who is sitting off to the right of the woman hand her a pie. Immediately the man notices and goes "mmmm pie!" and the woman goes "I'll give you a slice/piece when you're done saying goodbye" So the man laughs it off and slowly begins to scoot away from the woman. As he finishes up, he takes off in a full sprint with the woman closely following behind. They run around the set for a little bit before the woman cuts through part of the set and pies the man as he is running in her direction. He runs right into it and takes 3 or 4 steps backwards as he wipes a little bit out of his eyes and then just stands there hunched over trying to keep the cream from getting on his suit. The woman just stands there laughing and the show cuts away.
I have tried so hard to find this clip, because I always wanted to know what the context was for it. I always wanted to see if the woman got pied back, and why there was pie in the first place. It's driven me crazy, and often plays back in my head despite not knowing the name of the show or who the hosts were. I have tried to recreate this shot in videos I've made, but it doesn't satisfy the fact that I just want to see this clip again. So if anyone has an idea where it was from, please let me know.
4Kane said: edit: actually the wambank clip above, plus 1 additional one chimney clip (with better mess), were included in one of Slapstick Stuff Rich's old VHS compilations released in June 2014, the first WWYD compilation I think (file name WWYD1.mp4). There was one additional Gonzo Game scene with a minimal amount of mess included. I understand Rich can't offer these specifically via his vidown store anymore but I think I read here entertains requests for these via alternate means
Haha, I'm glad you guys remember things better than I do! I was 80% sure I had put those clips on ONE of those mainstream TV downloads, but I couldn't remember which one. But yes, the chimney games were pretty good, except for the googles. Gonzo Games as a whole had some potential but very few of the games really delivered solid mess... Still, it kinda boggles the mind how many different random cable & syndicated shows in America were featuring SOME kind of mess in the early 90s. (As opposed to now, where the number is... zero.)
Contact me via UMD or the SlapstickStuff website. I still have the download files and can probably figure out a way to get them to you if you want 'em.
