Apologies for a bit of WAM radio silence from me, had an injury which derailed any WAM plans lately. However I'm near enough back to full health and sorted out in some recent sales of leather Trousers. For years I've wanted to do WAM Sessions with them but just never had the chance. Now I'm aware with certain materials like leather, suede & so forth, got to watch how you put them through sessions, so just after some advice before I break them in.
Initially I'm thinking of items like foam, gel and maybe some gunge, do that in & outside of the trousers. Then wash them accordingly, but it's say any substances or when comes to drying or something else, I just want to be careful with, as now that I have, I want to enjoy them for decent usage.
It depends if they are real leather or the latest trend of faux leather. Real leather can be covered on the shiny side of the leather with almost most substances. Just rinse them with a wet sponge afterwards and alllow them to dry naturally. Be careful getting them wet in the softer suede type side of the leather as this is where the material can get ruined and warp the main side of the skin. Just don't get leather trousers too wet and allow them to dry hanging up.
Is they are faux leather they can be treated with anything as they are less susceptible to soaking and warping. The only trouble with faux leather is that after a few messing rhey can start to break up and the shiny side of the leather starts to crack. If I find a particularly good item of faux leather clothing I will buy two of them knowing that after a while one will not last as long as want them to. Hope this all helps

Got 1 pair of real leather Trousers & 1 faux/fake as thought if I put the faux ones through sessions first, I can guage how they do as otherwise I'll just wear the real leather trousers for non WAM occasions. So this certainly helps.
I would definitely use the faux ones for messy events and the quality of them these days are great. Some of the recent jackets and trousers I've bought have been better feel than real leather clothes from a few years ago. The cost is certainly cheaper especially if going through several items of clothing a year. Enjoy your sessions.
