Maybe we should do a UMD get together at this event. How was the event last year? Any pics? And is it really messy or googles and tiny cupcake pies type of event?

It was a ton of fun last year; see the discussion here:
I am very glad they are doing it again and will do my darnedest to make it out there this year. Apparently there were several of us there incognito last year. Although I certainly have plenty of practice blending into a crowd while flying solo, we'd be far less conspicuous in a group, so I'd be up for a meet-up.
The pie fight was so much fun - too short, of course, but SO messy and SO worth it. A real childhood dream come true for me.
The (minor) challenge is finding an appropriate outfit; almost everyone is there in 20s garb. I had very good luck at a local thrift store, but I don't know if I'll be that lucky again (the first set didn't survive the night).
The entertainment was really amazing; I've never seen anything quite like it. They certainly capture the feel and style of the 20s, or at least an idealized version of what we imagine them to be. It was almost worth going just for that.
