So on a sitcom or a gameshow is a single pie in the face considered WAM.
I always considered a variety show or a sitcom with a single pie being thrown slapstick or broad comedy.
Juxtaposed the above with the videos here at UMD where multiple pies hit the victim in all over the face head and body.
What are your thoughts?
Thanks

Hell yeah it is! Even a little cake icing on the face. These are my favorite kinds of scenes, that got me interested in the first place. Until there were WAM producers, almost no one ever got pie after pie after pie, and for my part, I prefer just the single pieing, or maybe double, with a wipe. Because I like to imagine a scenario where it could happen IRL--argument at a bakery, rude customers in a restaurant, etc.
And there's just about no situation IRL where someone could end up buried in 12 pies except a WAM producer's studio.
I'd say yes it does. Ultimately a pie has ended up someone it traditionally wouldn't be.
I guess your question comes down to what your own wam tastes are and what you consume wam for. Some people love the scene, story & humiliation of it and as Myds says the real life possibility of it. Personally I just wanna see a hot woman get hotter by getting covered in endless mess, a single pie isn't really why I'm here but I could still appreciate it.

Kinda think the same especially with different mess like gunge and slime added with colors of all sorts case in point
One pie, in a plausible situation, with a proper build up, and a good delivery, can be far better than a hundred pies, on a disinterested model, poorly lit, on a blue tarpaulin!

This. Some of my favorite pie scenes are one-offs. A great pie or cake scene (e.g., Greta Thyssen getting slammed with a cake by Moe in Quiz Whizz) can also be one of my faves despite there not being follow-up mess. It comes down to what you value in a scene.
Absolutely. Don't let gatekeepers tell you otherwise.
There's an overall trend of users here liking more extreme messes with large amounts of substance (or an infinite pie barrage), but there's also lots of users like many of the lovely people who've commented already who love the realism of a smaller mess or the comedy/story.

Heck I PREFER this. It's all about the scene, situation, reaction, performance for me. Well, that and real dessert/food involved. I'm less about visuals, more about substance (literally).
Any amount of mess qualifies as WAM. Whether or not it's a satisfying amount is subjective.
The scenario (and on whom it lands!) is important, too. One unplanned pie in a real-life prank might well be more titillating than twelve in a purpose made production.
No reason for it not to be WAM! It's a messy substance going onto someone, there's no WAM rule book that says there's a minimum number of pies or anything else. Beyond that, the amount and type of mess that you enjoy is just personal preference.
It's been said before, but one of the key differences between mainstream WAM and produced WAM is quantity of mess. I struggle to think of a "producer WAM" scene with just a single pie hit that's truly satisfying.
On the other hand, most of the all-time-great mainstream pie scenes are just a single pie hit.... From the Mandrell sisters, to the "That Girl" coming-down-the-stairs hit, to all those actresses in Three Stooges shorts....
