That's one reason why I go so long between releases... I like my ridiculous little stories, and that means I need costumes and props and at least a bare-bones set and performers who can remember their lines while being pied. (Merry Metrics went rather off-script in "Sudden Cravings," but she was cracking us up so we didn't mind.) All that costs more money and takes more time than a quick sliming. I have no beef against the quick and to-the-point films... but for myself, I've got six full scenarios lined up waiting for budget

Agreed and, again, my mind turns back to some of Bill's wonderful scenarios... and some of Rob Blaine's too. I don't *think* there's anyone doing the full storylines and spectacular multi-sploshing scenarios that Bill used to do with comedy scripts etc. (though I might have missed them as I don't check out everyone's every time).
The biggest problem is sales volume. To make those kind of scenes was expensive and only really feasible if you knew you were going to sell hundreds, or thousands, of copies of the ensuing film. Given this is a fetish market, the majority of customers are only interested in the actual money shots. Precisely what those are will vary per individual, but pretty much all of them will be either some part of the models getting gunged, or the models covered in slop after being gunged. In the majority of cases, any pre-gunge set-up will either only be watched once, or never watched and skipped over to get to "the good bits."

See above. TBH we kind of live in a halfway house - our overall sites have a full backstory which we add little bits to with every new person and every new scene, and our people will make reference to various things, like the way no matter where you try and go in the house, you always end up in the dungeon, Lady Jasmine's rules and parties, how there are always fresh supplies laid out as if by magic, etc. So we can bring the storyline into any scene easily without needing to take a lot of time or setup to do it. But it's not the kind of elaborate setup you used to see when there were only six producers and everyone could be confident of plenty of sales.
Though having said all that you can still get comedy into a scene. At Messtival, the sample of the scene we won Best Outdoor for was the very last clip in that section of the Nominee Reel. When Maude stuck her legs in the air and went "Tada!" with muddy water pouring out of her wellies, the entire room burst out laughing. I was really pleased with that, as was Maude when I told her about it.
I want my credit too. I had a few different accounts, but I am from the time of Pie Mafia, Messy Fun and those yahoo groups...I may have joined umd on its first year.
It has been a long journey, and, hopefully, far from ending
