Just checking back on this one into the hopes of finding a better quality version of the video. As I understand it, this is a skit from The Generation Game hosted by Jim Davidson. Anyone have any more info?
It is true that in that Aussie spoof GG pie scene you only see the face plant and they cutaway before she lifts her head, but there were plenty of other solo pie scenes and mass pie fights on that show to make up for that one.
All I know about the Generation Game is what I grew up watching in the 1970's when Bruce Forsyth and Larry Grayson were the hosts. The show ran for 34 years and 362 shows from 1971 to 2005. This was a hysterical show when I watched it in the 1970's because Bruce Forsyth was a great ad libber and when the games went wrong he thrived at all the mistakes. He was especially funny when smart Alec contestants thought they could be comedians as well, because Bruce always got the better of smart Alecs.
There were ZERO wetlook or messy games in the 70's and 80s. It was not until the show was rebooted in 1995 with Jim Davidson that the show had slapstick wet and messy games introduced into every show. Jim hosted the show from 1995 to 2002 on approx 100 shows. Sadly Jim's shows have never been repeated and are unlikely to be shown again because Jim had a contractual dispute with the BBC on that show and even today he rails about how much he hated hosting that show. According to Jim the BBC kept him on a tight leash because he was well known for his racy humour and as a blue comedian . They allowed Bruce Forsyth to ad lib because he was known as a family oriented comedian who would never say anything controversial but they were afraid of what Jim might say so they made him stick to the approved script and kept their hands on the bleep button in case he wandered off the script.
So I doubt we will ever see the 100 shows he did on YT, but a tiny handful of clips are now online.
I never saw these 1990's shows when they aired because I had already moved to Florida by then, but my friend Roger Carpenter (R.I.P.) who ran the Aquantics wam company was kind enough to record 2-3 dozen wetlook and messy GG games and send them on a VHS tape to me.
There were plenty of pied girls and mass pie fights, mud games, paint games and numerous wetlook games. All I have is low quality versions from VHS tapes, so I also hope that one day Jim Davidson might resolve his differences with the BBC so that all 100 shows can be seen again in HD.
I made a few caps from some of the many pie scenes.
Jim Davidson's Generation Game was too elaborate to be broadcast live, so there wouldn't have been any drastic concerns about any slips of the tongue during the studio recordings.
Bruce Forsyth's 1990 to 1994 shows were generally recorded on Tuesday evenings, so you could be tuning in on Friday or Saturday evening, and watching something recorded a few days before, but by the end of Jim Davidson's time, the programmes were being sat on for weeks or months before transmission. In fact, some of his Big Break quizzes spent three years on the shelf before making it to air.
He was a little unfortunate to lose his BBC contract, because his final series of Generation Game ended up against an unexpected hit ITV show, and there was a slight overreaction to the viewing figures.
Producers came and went during his Gen Game time, so I suspect Jim might have had some input in the amount of messy stuff the shows contained.

I would gladly pay you if I could get a version of the full "Aussie" scene from your VHS clip tapes. Is this available in your download store/membership site?

Hard to believe Jim Davidson was a prime time BBC presenter this century. Not just "blue" but often unashamedly racist and sexist.
The one useful thing he ever did was introduce mess to Generation Game, usually in very contrived fashion. My favourite skit was one I used to have on video but have never seen since. It involved an attractive dark haired girl playing a Blue Peter presenter and getting soaked with water by Mr Blobby. It ended with the girl pinning a Blue Peter badge to Blobby, who promptly "exploded", showering her with pink gunge. Anyone remember this or seen it anywhere?
