I always soak what I'm wearing because I love the feel of wet clothes and together with any kind of mess, it just feels right to me. That's what WAM is, Wet and Messy...get wet first, if able, and then get as messy as you want. Then clean up by getting wet again...just my thought
99% of the time its dry then get wet / wam etc but i have done a few pre wammed clothes.
i used to pick an outfit and mess, put them in a water tight bag etc and thoroughly soak them in the mess, be it custard or Vegetable Glycerine which is the thick stuff, bit like custard but its clear so you can 'wear' it in broad daylight when its raining and you just look super wet rather than as thich and squishy as you are,
what i would do is to dress up in clothes i no longer wanted, dry and walk to a park or other secluded spot and discard the clothes as i went till i was as close as naked as i could be then i would change into the bag of sploshed clothes and shoes and walk home or walk about then find a lake etc to wash off in and then go home
i dont do this as often anymore because a full set of clothes already drenched in custard weighs alot, more than my spine can carry as i have some bugered discs at 55, i could use a old ladies shopping trolley but then i'd have to wheel it back empty
i got the idea from pre sploshed stuff from an old act called "boogaloo stu' or something like that which as a stage act couple decades ago.
reason i do the walk home thing is i do love a splosh walk so it added a different perspective, esp when i was nearing the naked stage, which for the glycerine would be during the daytime.
i still prefer the classic dry to sploshed wearing but its defiantly something every splosher should try even if its just at home.
i've never done this with wetlook as its very akward putting tights / stockings on when they are already wet and its not nearly as much of a nice feeling as the pre sploshed stuff with mess ?(yes i love regular wetlook) saying that in the summer i do put dresses etc in the washing machine on rinse and let them spin up so they are wet but not dripping if i'm going out as a 'normal' person and its stupid hot.
nor have i ever soaked clothes in water before sploshing, i can see why as it would speed up the time it takes splosh stuff to soak into the clothes, it may also stop some clothes from staining, in the last decade or so i have noticed some custard brands stain clothes yellow, not sure if its the low fat versions or brand specific, after it reaches the good parts thats all forgotten about lol
i did some large tins of mango pulp the other day as an early morning walk home, like dawn into daylight, wow that stuff was very orange, had to jump into a muddy pond to kill the weird look, far easier to say to someone or a neighbor i fell in a muddy pond than to explain why i was covered in mango pulp....in London
Edit > i see from re-reading it probably more relates to already being dressed then going for wet and then mess rather than pre soaking before getting dressed yes i've done that a few times but only when doing outdoor muddy or messy walks, i find it best to do those on rainy nights because less people are likely to be hanging about so i treat it as a wet / rain walk then find the mud or start pouring stuff after wet
as for indoor stuff, of late i rarely di indoor wetlook most of my indoor stuff is messy so its straight to the messy,
