When I first got into WAM I started with shaving cream, especially in college where it was easy to clean up. Over the years I've been much more into mudding and messy play with substandces other than shaving cream for one reason - anything I have found in the USA for an affordable price has added fragrances - even the ones that claim to be scent-free.
A while back I wanted to have some quick fun so I filled my Carhartt overalls with shaving cream before I did the vacuuming. It was quite enjoyable. But it took multiple showers while wearing them and multiple runs through the washing machine before the fragrance was gone.
I couldn't wear them working with other guys because the scent was so strong it would have been obvious and I didn't want to be teased about it.
So have any of you found an affordable shaving cream in an aerosol can that really is scent and fragrance free?
I have definitely run into this issue as well... unfortunately I haven't come across anything totally scent-free, but I will say the Gillette for "sensitive skin" (can with a turquoise lid) has a much less strong scent that comes out of your clothing easier. It'll be interesting to see if anyone else has any suggestions!
Just tell them you're tired of their smelly a**es..
Semi joking aside, I'd bet anything wouldn't be cheap. So, go with any suggestions, and assuming you have your own washer, do a soak of your carharts with laundry detergent and maybe borax (cheap and at your grocery store). I find borax does improve the strength when cleaning so maybe it'll help with fragrances as well.
I usually soak the clothing for a day with water and laundry detergent (perhaps 3 - 4 times as concentrated as in a regular wash). It definitely reduces the lingering scent - I'll have to try the borax next time.
Curious thing about the Barbasol fragrance-free. It's not shown on the Barbasol company web site, I don't see it in local stores, people are selling it on ebay for $20 a can and Menards has it for $1.97 a can. Too bad the closest Menards to me is in Wyoming.
