A decent amount of savoury messy substances come in cans. From a safety perspective, this can be an issue since traditional can openers tend to leave jagged edges and don't separate the top of the can cleanly.
Apparently, the traditional can opener style is not the only one available. I was watching this YouTube video:
The top of the can separates cleanly, like a replaceable lid, with no sharp edges or jagged spots and the cutting element does not come in contact with the food at all, making cleanup easier. It definitely changed the way I open my cans. I use this one specifically:

I guess the OP thought as opening cans of soup or custard can be a major part of prep for a messy scene, it's related? I'd be inclined to let it stay, but feel free to use the Report link, another mod, or MM, might think otherwise.

This is a fantastic invention!! I wish I would have had something like this a couple days ago! My electric can opener died on the first of 12 cans of beans! I had to manually do the other 11 cans and then a big can of nacho cheese. Everything went great until the last can and when I was trying to remove the lid (admittedly, this was my own carelessness and stupidity), I sliced my thumb on a sharp bit that was sticking out! I immediately pulled my thumb away from the cheese but the damage had been done! I started bleeding really bad. I thought I wasn't going to be able to have my session and what was I going to do with all of these open cans?? This handy can opener would have eliminated a couple hours of taking care of that injury!!! I will definitely be getting one of these!!!!
