There was nothing as fun as dropping acid with my boys, listening to Black Sabbath, and being convinced that I was gonna die that night. We did it again and again. RIP Ozzy.
I saw Ozzy and Sabbath several times. I was lucky enough to see him once w Randy Rhoads a few weeks before the crash. One of the back drops of my growing up life has gone. RIP Ozzy.
Like every male of a few generations, I discovered Ozzy in high school. He was already on MTV but then you go back and find the really good stuff. One of the first songs our crappy band ever learned was "Crazy Train," and then later when we reduced to a power trio, "War Pigs" became one of our live staples. I remember being able to replicate Geezer's bass part pretty accurately, but trying to sing like Ozzy? Not possible.
The man literally created heavy metal, and probably should've died about 10 different times, and yet I still can't believe he's actually gone. RIP Ozzy.
I'm sure I read, years ago, that one of Ozzy's madcap escapades involved pouring a tureen of baked beans over his wife Sharon's head - but when I search for it, all that comes up is Sharon encouraging the crowd to throw tins of beans at Iron Maiden's Bruce Dickinson after some perceived slight or other. Which isn't quite the same.

What more befitting a bean laden vessel to honor a such regal escapade than a "tureen". A word (and indeed a vessel) we need to see and hear more often in WAM
