I went to add someone as a friend on this forum, and was met with the message: "You are not authorized to send friend requests at this time".

Obviously, I can read the message. My question is: why am I not able to send a friend request at this time?

Has anyone else received this message?

I didn't ban you. I don't care about you in the slightest. Every account has a hidden "rap sheet" that mods can see and enter comments about disciplinary actions and complaints. Yours looks like it was written about Charles Manson.

Would it be an idea, to send a copy of the "rap sheet" to the user responsible for causing the complaint?
I don't mean to enter into any discussion about it, but simply to let them know that they have caused offence?
Sometimes this may be deliberate, sometimes perhaps a misunderstanding and sometimes I think users can get carried away and just don't think at all.
But if made aware of the complaint, perhaps some users might act more thoughtfully in the future?
