How about we do away with the verification check mark? It's really does not convey any useful information to the members of the community. Why do we need it?

Paraphrasing, here's a quick recap of the story so far:
UMD: "You said this person was verified, but it turned out they were fake. What's going on?" MM: "The verified status just means that they've satisfied the requirements for the credit card company. It has nothing to do with the person who's sitting behind the keyboard or the name/face on the account, so you should all do your own checking regardless of that status." Me: "In that case, why not just get rid of the green tick? I.e. keep the info in the database to satisfy the credit card companies, but don't show the tick to other forum members if it's irrelevant to us, then that would reduce confusion." MM: "Just because it's not a complete background check on the person's identity doesn't mean that the green check has zero value. What you take from it depends on you, but people do appreciate it." (direct quote)
I'm genuinely curious to know what value the green tick has to anyone other than the credit card companies.
No one is saying the store front or producer needs to display their real identity
A few replies were veering that way, so that's why I brought it up. Saying things to the effect of "either it's a photo of you or if not it needs to be an inanimate object". So I'm glad no-one's saying it, because for a while it looked like a couple of people might be.
Nah, I am a business entity. That being said, the admin of this site needs to know, in confidence, that I am who I say I am. Similarly, if a model opens up shop and is going to be in working proximity with other models or taking money, she or he ALSO needs to be verified to the site administrator that they are who they say they are. We are trying to reduce the areas where people can be duplicitous upon signing up by this method. It will never 100% eliminate the issue but it will stop most of them at the door assuming site administration is doing their jobs and checking this information

Since this is not what the system was designed to do, I have read all the posts and I made a system proposal that I feel can help prevent issues such as this in the future. This system can make the identity of the user more robust.
Check out my photo and let me know what you think!
Was also thinking about biometrics data like timestamp id or something
Something else I was pondering was if you run a store to make sure it's the same user with a verification their could be yearly checks to prevent the Kelsey issue happening you have to re verify if your sellling something. This way even if someone can access the account they aren't allowed to do it when the system ask for a recertification of being vetting. It can be yearly but at least that means if someone else is using the account the community is aware that somethings up.
