dalamar666 said: It seems like there is a misconception when it comes to a custom what is ok and what is not ok. When you are commissioned for a job, you need to meet the requirements of the person paying for the work. If a painter is hired to paint your house white while you are on vacation, for example. You come home and your house is painted black, is it nit picky to expect the painter to have painted your house the color you requested? I think that in contracts there should be replacement options given. If you cannot get the outfits requested or the substances requested, check with the person paying for the work for acceptable replacements. It only takes a few minutes to verify things before going forward. If the person paying for the custom is not ok with the changes, make the video you planned with the model and make changes to it, then sell it on the store. Regroup with the person that requested the custom and reschedule for when the requested items can be acquired. I really feel like a little more communication would have prevented a lot of the situations that have come up in this thread.
Or people could just communicate effectively. For instance, for attire, I know personally how important this is so I deliberately put that in the client's court. They pick it. I buy it. Done. The cost is added to the invoice. They know what it costs and I know I got them attire that they are going to like. If there is an issue on availability, simply email them and communicate that to them. 9 times out of 10, they're going to have a substitution already in mind. It's not that difficult.

One of the girls you asked for is not local and a traveling model, so I'm more or less at the mercy of her availability. Both are now available.

I was giving multiple final dates that have never came to be true the last being June 10th and was promised a refund if said date was missed, i have contacted you via email to discuss that, not looking to work with you anymore

Emailed you hours ago, when are you going to respond?
Arguably, they are the most celebrated producer on this site but that's because they have shown what they are capable of.
Reliability is another story though.
You received two videos and still nit-picked them because of the color of the skirts and how they were shot.
That's exactly what I mean...
"You received two videos and still nit-picked them because of the color of the skirts and how they were shot."
Exactly. That's not just nit-picking. Custom videos are *tailored to the customer's exact specifications*. That's why they cost like ~20x what a regular video costs.
Correct. It makes people aware of what they're getting into when ordering a custom video from Messy Girl. Just with this one thread, look at all of the people who have come forward with issues and ones who have been waiting on customs for countless months, and over a year.
It also establishes a pattern of behavior. This is by far not the first thread. There have been many and it's always the same; customer paid, didn't receive anything, then eventually ghosted. Only when they post about it does MG decide he "has" to take action.
Look at the last guy. Messy Girl promised that if he didn't have his custom by June 10th he'd issue a refund. Status? No refund given.
To tdk's original post I almost went through the same thing like you but it was completely different from what I experienced: After the success of my first custom that Messygirl made for me (which came out perfectly) I wanted another custom with Stephanie. I sent the money to MG in July and I kept track of their status then as I looked at Stephanie previous scenes I know she's a mother and has a lot on her hands running back and forth. When the sixth month has passed I never asked for a refund but they offered me another lady with a different kind of scene and I said "Sure" cause it didn't bother me that it wasn't the model I request, Iwas still satisfied with my second custom. Now with another one that is about to be made I will continue to wait and mind my own business, and if MG has anything to ask they can just DM me and I'm very reasonable.
Wow, it is interesting to see how some customs work. That's why you should have models you trust doing customs. The professional ones will go out of their way to make sure they create a good product for you.

This is not at all how customs should work. I've been producing customs since 2010. This is how customs work:
1) Get a request 2) Respond by asking scene details, length, any requested models. 3) They reply 4) If the requested models are not available in the next two weeks, we offer others or they can't wait. 5) They either choose available models or I circle back when the models they want can shoot. I don't take a dime until I can shoot the models they want within one to weeks max. 6) Get paid, make the video and deliver it.
And that's it. If there's any delay; model emergency, illness, we tell them they can wait or we offer an immediate refund.
It's disgusting to make customers wait months for a video and shows a total lack of ethics.

I know how to do a custom. I have made handfuls of customs.
Then to your point, I totally agree. We know the models who tend to flake, pull no-shows, always some type of emergency and know the models who are always on their game. Thankfully we work with about 25 fetish models who are always on their game.
All I will say is, what an eye-opening thread. While part of me thinks this should be resolved privately, the bigger part of me thinks it should stay up and be allowed to continue.

See, we are slightly different. 50% upfront to secure the date and the remainder due within one week of the shoot. Similar to most weddings and professional shoots. Models get paid for by the clients we are shooting for that day and typically most models require a deposit to secure the time on their ends. This way, all parties involved know that we are committed and moving forward. Remaining funds stay in escrow until delivery. Once the video is received and I get the thumbs up, funds get pulled and the whole cycle repeats itself. In any event, that money doesn't move into your personal account until you have written approval from the client that they received it and are satisfied with the custom.

I usually follow their socials and keep an eye open for red flags. If I look on their pages and see tumbleweeds, low engagement, and or nothing but automated tweets from their clip stores, then that tells me that they are almost never available and you will be lucky to get any sort of reply.
Conversely, If I look on their page and I see them in some sort of drama, Twitter spat or being rude to their fans for no reason, those are also a pass.
The women I look for are typically engaged with their audience, run all their pages with no apparent issues, and keep a positive yet active presence in the community and with other models.

I mean, to my understanding, all offended parties concerned tried to resolve this privately and according to them, nothing got done. Perhaps there is more and perhaps there is not but in any case, it should have been resolved first thing. Not months after the fact so I can't really fault them for putting MG on blast like this.
Would private look better for the community? Definitely. Absolutely. Maybe this has gotten to a point where diplomacy is waning and moderation needs to step in, take the complainants and MG aside and have a chat to resolve the matter internally? *Shrugs*

Meh... Not in all cases! I personally shoot non stop customs, go to shoots, get hired to shoot models (non video customs), own a gym, own a full-home generator business, and a full time dog mom/wife. The last thing I am doing is getting on social media to engage. Im taking care of business more than any other model I know! Cant always judge models by that. I dont get on all 20 of my platforms to answer messages everyday but my email is lively and open!

100% how it's done by almost every single producer that I know! Easiest method! Cleanest method!

I was more referring to the nature of the comments by the accused (feels like I'm discussing a Law & Order episode ) in response to the accusations. It isn't painting them in a good light, and I say that as someone who has been a fan of their content.
Wow this is spicy... Where is all the uproar about MM letting someone who used their kid to promote their download store a free pass? We can throw stinks about customs but not kids being exploited for adult sites by their parents I guess
BTW not getting MG a pass... And don't say Leah is a part of Messy girl when you run the show and have for a while... I inquired about collabing with MG and didn't get a response for two months and when I asked why he was suddenly interested after two months I never got a response. Learn to communicate. Or hire me to manage your damn site
Feel like Penelope leaving was the icing on the cake that he takes advantage of young models likely underpays them, and frankly does the bare minimum with editing. Like shit bro you could release two versions of your videos instead of cramming a verticle video into a horizontal canvas. I inspire to be a better editor because you can't even do simple things like that.

I probably should have put an asterisk as there are always exceptions so apologies for that! For instance, one wrestler, Katie is almost never on IG but answers messages regularly. Others are online all the time but are harder to get a hold of than the president.
That method is more of a general practice I took on when I first started shooting but it's not the only metric I use because like you, I am busy. Between wedding season, graduations, gym, life and work, I am not always on my socials either. I already have two business websites and their respective socials I am running. The spicy stuff gets to be a bit much to stay on too of LOL
I feel like all this negativity is coming from misaligned expectations. Messygirl is just one person with an assistant producing this stuff. He doesn't have a customer service department.
Perhaps it's also the nature of the customs? Like you're straight up HGD's or Human statue customs need one model, so it's sort of easier to pull off.
When there's multiple models having a pie fight or something, it's more difficult to get all the moving pieces to align, and maybe messygirl is overly optimistic about the timelines.

Yeah this is kinda where I got messed up, originally was supposed to be a 2 girl scene that one or the other was never available for and to their credit they were always offering to have different models or to do different scenes and otherwise make things right, it was just that every time I wanted a specific model she would be sick or busy and so we kinda kept changing things. But yeah I have been super happy with the custom they did for me in the past so Im fine with waiting and while I would much rather have had my custom a year or so ago at this point I am really am excited for the final product.
Also I feel like it is worth mentioning that during the initial custom buy I was quoted a higher price than typical for a standard MG custom because the model hadn't done hard core scenes yet and that would be the first time she had done one and it was MGs idea to add a second model, which wasnt in my budget and they offered to make it work. Also while I didn't get a refund I was recently offered the choice of a bunch of free scenes or a free subscription to their main site to make up for the delay, so while I am not quite whole *yet* they have at least attempted to make up for it and I felt it was important to point out something good that they did in a story that might feel very negative.

For payment and flow, we have a different method. We shoot all the time, as in several times a week doing a lot of fetishes. When the girls are booked, we blast out for customs on Twitter along with the shoot date.
If we accept their script, it's 100% payment upfront. Never an issue with us due to our reputation. Video is typically shot a few days later, edited and delivered one day after it was shot.
Stated again, we do not accept any payment unless we can shoot the video immediately.
I feel like all this negativity is coming from misaligned expectations. Messygirl is just one person with an assistant producing this stuff. He doesn't have a customer service department.

My hot take is that he's broke. He likely uses the custom money to pay his bills leaving no money to pay the models. It's also why he doesn't have money to issues refunds when asked. On the last thread a guy demanded a refund and MG said it would take 7 days. Why 7 days? If he got paid for a custom and didn't make the custom yet, shouldn't that money have been sitting in his account?
Then months and months goes by...still no money to pay the models for the custom so he has to invent excuse after excuse. Some custom clients actually believe his excuses and wait months and months. Some get sick of it and like this thread, along with many others, have to call him out on this board to attempt get a refund. Does he ever actually delivery customs? Sure, when he happens to have to money to pay the models. Then, as we've heard on this thread, he'll actually deliver a custom, ignoring details on the script and his reply is "eh, go suck an egg."
I also see he's been removed from the list. I think that says everything.
