Whenever I shoot videos, I love the visual of an ass sinking into a cake, especially when the cake bulges out from all sides as it gets flattened, and the barely-there remnants when the model stands up. But I'm always disappointed with the coverage: it's often a thin layer of frosting on a small portion of the booty. The same would happen with a pie sitting, too.
On the other hand, pie spankings give great coverage, but the visual isn't as great.
So has anyone ever executed a good cake sitting? If so, how do you do it? I've tried adding extra frosting, bigger cakes, smaller cakes, nothing seems to make a difference!
Deliberately undercook the cake layers and make them thick and tall. Soak them in custard or cream as you layer them up. Cover them with cream and custard and top with a trifle if you want an instant initial messy hit!! The more mess the better it feels as you sit on it.
Here's a free video of a two-part cake sit, first Friday sits on just the defrosted gateaux, which makes a lovely mess of her skirt on its own, but then custard is added to the squished cake and she sits again and has a good wiggle about while sitting to really spread the mess over the back of her skirt before rising again to reveal the delicious aftermath. https://umd.net/videos/messtival-nominee-cake-sit-by-friday-in
One thing we often do if we want to maximise the mess of a single sit, is having defrosted the gateaux, we cut them into 8 slices and move the slices slightly apart from each other, and then fill the spaces bertween with cream or custard, to make a much messier overall sitting target. The key to nice coverage is lots of thick liquid mess.

Wow this is brilliant and I am absolutely trying this next time.

I take your point, and I have seen some disappointing cake sitting clips as well, usually because the sedentary confectionary in question is too dry, so it simply crumbles and doesn't give the rear cheeks the kind of messy coverage desired.
However, I have also seen some great cake sitting clips, and in these cases the cake is nice and moist, rich and gooey, with plenty of cream or custard to ensure the model's backside is well and truly smeared with delicious remains of cake.
I suspect a gateau or more pudding-like kind of cake delivers the best sitting experience -- for viewer and model alike, with the added bonus for the model of creamy mess disappearing inbetween the cheeks of her bottom.
So don't give up! A successful and erotically charged cake sitting clip is possible!

Just seen this, and your post bears out my suggestion about gateau type confectionary offering the best cake-sitting experience!
Having reviewed the video you've kindly shared, I would concur that it's the creaminess of the cake that's the all-important factor here. At the same time, this video raises another issue: should the cake be sat upon while the model wears a dress (as here), or wearing some skimpy panties or thong? Answers on a postcard please ...
The suggestion of cutting the cake/gateau and filling the gaps between the slices with custard or cream is a great tip too!

I've always thought cake sitting would better be called gateau-sitting. Sitting on dry cakes with frosting is so frustrating for the viewer. As a connoisseur of the art I have my golden set of rules for gateau sitting videos:
1) gateau, not cake, possibly enhanced with cream, syrup or custard...or another gateau.
2) no underwear...or any other kind of wear down there...
3) the gateau should be elevated on a stool or chair...never on the floor
4) legs apart (the number of vids where the knees are together and you can't see the cake...or anything else...)
5) camera at the same level as the stool or slightly below (again, so many vids with the camera too high so you can't see the action... or even at the side instead of in front or behind...jeez...)
6) the grind, preferably in circular motions...
7) giggles and squeals are great, faking sexual pleasure is lame
8) the sit should never be rushed...
Anyone else agree? And if so, what's in your gateau sitting Hall of Fame? Bill Shipton was the Godfather and few have reached his level...

Pretty much agree with those points. Camera angles - so many options here. Most people would have phones, laptops, tablets, gopros so no excuse not to film multiple angles on a good cake sit. As you say - faking it in any way whether sexual pleasure or just pretending to enjoy it are a real turn off. The only thing I do disagree on is a personal preference - I prefer to see some pretty panties get ruined to start, so maybe start with underwear for part of it but take them off for the final sit down into the mess!! I do agree with how many videos are just too dry, bad angles or legs closed not showing anything.

And I love it with flimsy panties sitting on a cake ... More, I love the lady wearing a nice short dress and flimsy panties, lifting the skirt a little for sitting on a chair with that cream gateau placed.
Pick up frozen gateaux from the frozen section rather than cakes from the bakery, they're a lot lot squishier and stick much better than regular cakes.
A great one to try is to load the gateau into the crotch of some knickers or a swimsuit, and have the model put them on without damaging the cake. You can then sit down or wedgie and thoroughly squish the cake into all the good places.

Another cake sitting connoisseur here!!
This is definitely a good approach. To clarify, some "cakes" are very good for WAM - the Costco ones primarily, because they load them up with lots of soft gooey frosting and the sponge is extremely soft. Outwith these though, I agree, the frozen gateauxs are the best option - a brand called Coppenrath and Wiesse makes some absolutely incredible frozen gateauxs and tortes that (subject to correct defrosting) are heavenly to sit on, and so soft, and splat beautifully. So between those two brands, you have my favourites - gateauxs as you mentioned, and very soft cakes with lots of frosting. As you said, many cakesits have been ruined by having a dry cake with the wrong type of icing.
I agree with you on the lack of clothing - cake sitting is definitely best naked (at least from the waist down).
Agree again about having the cake on a plinth or chair - never on the floor. You can't grind your nether regions into it if you can't easily get down to it, and it's nice to watch chunks of the cake fall away on to the floor.
Agree on the other points too. The grind can be forward and backward for me though - basically an emphasis on getting it into the ass and pussy / sex areas.
Point 7 - kind of agree, but genuine sexual pleasure from cake sitting is the best of all!!
Point 8 - agree!!!
Nice to share with another person who evidently GETS the finer points of cake sitting!!!
There rarely seem to be any decent dedicated cake sitting videos these days!!
