I'm only interested in seeing women getting messy and I prefer to be the one dishing it out but I discovered along the way that I quite like to see a guy doing the messing (so I can put myself in his place).
When I very first shared media of me messing up the then Mrs Trouso I would never show myself in shot. This was partly because, until around a decade ago, UMD had been very much a strictly male voyeur's forum (if anyone wanted to talk about self WAMming, cross dressing or 'feelings' they went to the Splosh! forum). As the UMD membership absorbed the Splosh! forum (following Bill S's death) it definitely became a broader church for WAM and a friendlier place (I need to add that MessMaster was always very broad minded and friendly, but a minority of the original membership tended to strongly dictate what went on and didn't go on!)
I started to appear more as a protagonist as a great many people apparently wanted to see the couple dynamic and encouraged me to appear in shot more *
I've occasionally shared 'revenge' footage, although never sold it. Usually the model is very messy at the end of a shoot. The feedback has generally been that fans of men being messed want to see a clean woman carrying this out.
*This doesn't always work out as you can see by the roasting I got in a review for 'getting in the way' in a paid model shoot with Isla currently in the store.
So, it kind of depends. I can only deduce that the audience for relationship couple WAM (and for the viewer, the fantasy of a WAM relationship) is fairly large.

There are certainly several of us here who enjoy seeing a woman messed up by a guy. There are a few couples profile that meet this brief. I have spoken to several other members by PM who enjoy seeing this.
As Trouso said, it's good to see messy relationship WAM couples and nice to imagine that the viewer is the one doing the gunging.
Nothing hotter than a couple getting messy together, especially if it's of a sexual nature. I guess it's just hot to see another couple into what we have enjoyed together.
Here's my view: It shouldn't be called co-ed if the woman isn't at least getting a messy bear-hug from the guy afterward, if not being pushed back into the mess she missed out on. She participated, sure; but if she isn't even doing her own laundry after the scene before going home, then she might as well have been holding the camera, and that's just not "co-ed" enough in my books. Some people need to build up the courage to becoming the "intended target", I get that, so if I know that the woman is a "WAM virgin", it makes sense that she might want to see how things go as the "giver", rather than a first-round "taker". However, after that, she needs to make a choice: In or out? If a "wallflower" chooses to continuously sit out the dance, I don't think they get credited with participating any more than the decorator.
For me, the way the scene plays out matters more to me than the fact that it's co-ed. To me, wam has always been about the fun of getting messy and playing around in your mess of choice (and the more erotic and naughty activities of course), so everyone having fun and getting in on it is of the utmost importance. I rarely enjoy wam content that's one-sided, especially if it's playing into the humiliation theme. But to each their own.
