Just to sum up the show: Ugly Bieber takes as many pies as the entire female team COMBINED.

Beyond that, you finally get some good female pies after 63 minutes (!!) of garbage. Of course, in keeping with the show's constant sabotaging of female clips, the best pieing is missed by the camera (they show it on replay).... A great yellow pie is shot ONLY in wide angle (no replay)... And a final nice pieing has limited closeup (and no replay again).
FYI the only female hit they actually film correctly is the first one... which is also the lamest one. (Chin & side of face only.)

Positives: Lots of wetlook for females, if you like girls getting tossed in the pool. And TONS of WAM for guys, as usual.... Lots of pies and across-the-board wetlook.

Negatives: Entire female team is all newbies. No standouts. No familiar faces. No personality. (Not that it matters anyway, only 4 of them even get messy.) Those of us who weeks ago thought the show was "coming back".... Probably not.

The fact that it's on grass ruins it for me too. Even when females don't get many pies, I always watched for the slippery mess on the floor that they would walk through or pies/water balloons to step on. I hope this was just a one week outdoor special and not a perminant change.

Say what you will about Curly (as Rich does at every opportunity) but Ugly Bieber has become worse IMO. The Curly gangpies, while annoying, were essentially pre-taped bits they just threw in for comic relief, they didn't impact the game or take away any female pieings.

But goddamnit, as if white knighting wasn't enough, we again have at least two spots here where a pie/water is supposed to go to a girl and for seemingly no reason a dude is sat down and takes it instead. Has to be 20+ times this has happened since the start of the balloon era and only with the guys. You want to pie the guys more? Do some bullshit mid games sketch where Curly and Bieber exchange 10 pies in classic slapstick fashion, but could we just play the actual game with some semblance of equity?

Please don't let this be the first step toward going full EEG.

Agreed, although a coupla things:

1) I didn't know the Curly gang pieings were pre-taped? I mean, I tended to skip past those segments quickly (while seething quiet rage, HAHA) but I definitely remember him getting gang-pied, THEN standing at the podium still destroyed with pie, THEN missing the question (of course) and having Karla add yet another pie for insult.

2) The above (plus the fact that it happened 4 weeks in a row) is why I hate Curly above all else. Like Hitler, it's gonna be hard to remove him from that "Most Hated" top spot.

3) Ugly Bieber has definitely been worse than Curly in the Conexao era (I guarantee it was pre-arranged for him to "lose" to Barb during the first gang pieing of a losing captain). BUT.... The show has fallen off so badly that I don't really care one way or the other. So aside from little reminders like this, his awfulness doesn't register with me.

4) Pretty sure we all called Ugly Bieber as being awful from his first week on. I think I even commented as much on IG, and Dani (!!) actually responded with a, "No, he's really nice!" Or something. I'm sure him taking pies constantly contributes to said niceness.

5) The guys have been "white knighting" for well over a year, when either Dumb or Dumber smashed himself with a pie instead of nailing the hottie. (And of course it was easily his best hit for coverage in weeks.) If the show was gonna become EEG, it would've by now. No, it's just gonna slowly suck a little more each week until all of us stop caring.

Speaking of... Where's AG and CU? They're about the only two consistent CM commentators left.

Personality/chemistry is so important, and that's kind of what's harming CM/EEG for me from a wam perspective... to the point that CM doesn't turn me on at all anymore because none of the guys really do it for me, they're all just bland pretty-boys. On EEG, I used to love seeing Yaco and David and the other more three-dimensional characters get pied/slimed, but I've lost interest since they both left the show (though there's still Nico). It's all just boring models.

Someone needs to come up with a Gals And Guys Next Door version of these shows...

The fact that there were 4 pies this week is a good sign in general. Yes, the camerawork (and sound) were shit, but getting it back in the studio should help marginally.

Interesting that those into male WAM think the males have no personalities.

Because the current version of CM seems to be steering hard into these "fun" and "hilarious" males while the women are just interchangeable wallpaper.
To wit: Ugly Bieber (Diego?) and Curly have basically become the face of CM on social media. D'Lucca just popped up again, but he's a vet from the original show. And there's a new beardy hippie guy that looks like Jim James from My Morning Jacket. But basically... I don't watch for the guys, but I instantly recognize all 4 of them.
Every single female this week was BRAND NEW to me. If they've been on the show before, I haven't noticed.

The "newbies" were the models from the reality show which has been given primary importance in the 90 minute program.

The outdoor arena is the backyard of the house the models live in and compete in for the honor of being named "top model".

The producers have promised a shitload of money to the winning girl and I severely doubt they actually have the money to payout.

I wouldn't be surprised to see the program cancelled one week before a winner is to be declared and the producers flee the country.

However, back to the main topic.

It would have been absolutely delightful and fitting for the models to throw the frighteningly skinny host in the pool and see if she floats or sinks.

Lastly, I prefer my pie-ings in a studio. Outdoor pie-ings make me think of dirt, grass and bugs. Not sexy.

Double lastly, "Ugly Bieber" is considered the "talent". He's practically the co-host. He never puts the microphone down. He'll be there after a million pies.

I think the producers were trying to blend their two programs ("Regular Conexao" and the Reality Show) in a similar manner that MTV blended Road Rules and The Real World.

I have no idea if they'll continue with the blended segment next week or if it was a one shot deal.

(1) Not literally, no, when I say "essentially pre-taped" I mean that they where clearly rehearsed beforehand and weren't part of the game, they were a vignette that had a planned ending, so they may has well have been pre-taped. So annoying yes, but outside the game. The in game bullshit is 1000x more frustrating to me.

(5) Also true, but the white knight/bullshit switch ratio has gone WAY up the last few months, it's far too depressing to get stats but I would bet money there have been more examples of this in the last 4-5 months than in the preceding 14-15 months.

If there were anything else going on other than the occasional so-so EEG Panama game or apparently tons of stolen producer material up for grabs, I could just ignore CM, but... yeah.

I haven't watched the show in a while, but some of the guys seem dull (but then again I don't speak the language). The longhaired bearded guy is new - I enjoyed seeing him get pied.

At this point I check for mainstream clips out of habit, but there's literally nothing.
I mean, sure, a few good CM pies over the course of a month, but a far cry from even 4 months ago. None of the EEGs are really doing anything. And literally every other show is cancelled or pie-free.

I'm not sure this has any connection to me stepping up video production, but who's to say? Maybe sub-consciously....
