I have an opportunity to pie a female friend and I don't want to screw up this opportunity. Please tell me what is the best edible pie to hit her in the face with. No shaving cream and no homemade recipes. I want a pie I can buy that will give good coverage and stick to her face. I like a white cream vs a chocolate cake. I was thinking lemon meringue, but figured I would ask the experts. Also an pointers on how to ensure maximum coverage. Thanks in advance for all your help.

Yep, exactly! So many people (on TV shows and in RL) seem to think a meringue pie will be messy. If it's not very freshly-made home-made meringue, it won't stick at all. Then you get a little splat-through from the lemon underneath, but that's all.
You definitely want a whipped cream topping on your bakery pie, Wammoe! That, and lemon underneath, makes a great messy, sticky combination!
And as Vonce said, if it's frozen, make sure it's well thawed!

Three words - French silk pie. They're not super easy to find, but they're outstanding in terms of the splatter and adherence. They're the closest thing to what what used in the legendary Three's Company pie fight. Just try to get ones which don't have a lot of garnish on top, since at best that gets in the way and at worst it can cause discomfort.
If you can find the sugar free chocolate cream pies in the Wal-Mart bakery I found they stuck the best. The reg choc, banana and coconut cream pies in their bakery also stick well.
In my experience homemade pies get much better coverage. Every store bought chocolate cream pie I have gotten was so thick it just smears off your face quickly. Personally I would get one of those frozen pie crusts, bake it, then put in a mix of cool whip and white frosting. Blending in some marshmellow fluff will add some stickiness too. That way you can control the thickness and texture of the pie.
The best pies I have found that were not made for me are Chef Pierre frozen cream pies. They sell them in Gordon Food Service stores. They are in many mid western states and Florida. i see your from NYC so I guess your out of luck
