My wife and I have used baby oil in the past with very little in the way of adverse results. Well, aside from that one couch cushion and a few destroyed clothing items that we probably wish we hadn't covered in oil.
Where's the fail? You ask...
Yesterday, we both had a really "off" day. Nothing went right the whole day, dinner plans ruined, movie times misread and refunds needed from tickets, arguing, just not a very good day.
I offered to give her a back or body rub to help us both calm down and try to relax. To my surprise, she agrees and tells me she just wants to change into "something more appropriate for an oil rub down". I hadn't mentioned oil to her, so I'm very pleasantly surprised by her desire for oil and trying to get sexy with it. She comes back in jeans that we've gotten her messy in countless times. Ripped up, waist band cut off, skin tight jeans and a very sexy little work out top (the spandex almost sports bra type, but definitely intended to be a shirt) that we got her for getting messy in.
Everything is going great, I have her back rubbed and shoulders done, she's feeling great and turns over. She has me sit cross legged on the bed and slides her body to me. Now straddling my hips, but able to lie back, I start working on the front of her body. I start with her tummy, a favorite for her and her hips. She adds a little oil to her skin and I'm getting more and more turned on. I work my way up and down her legs, sticking my hand between her legs and teasing her. She hands me the oil and arches her back, inviting me to soak her smallish, but perfect breasts. I had forgotten how sexy she looks when covered in oil and this top had never been so abused by wam. I think we're about to embark on a sexy, slippery trip to O-Town. Suddenly, she's pushing me away a bit and tearing at her clothing. I tell her to slow down, we'll get there and to just enjoy it. That's when I notice that her skin has turned bright pink and she is breaking out. She was fine after a cold shower and some calming lotion on her skin.
Have any of ever had this happen or heard of it before? Needless to say, it was a big damper on our moods, even though we did have sex later that night. I've never seen this kind of reaction though and it was definitely a little scary. One second, she's fine and the next it was a burning sensation and really itchy skin.
I'm really sorry you had a bad day that got worse and especially for your poor wife and her reaction to the oil.
Sometimes we can sometimes become illergic to things that we were never bothered by before so could be that, was is a different brand of oil you used ? Maybe do a patch test on a small area of her thigh first especially if using something new but is worrying since this oil was baby oil. It hadn't been open for a long time as they say 18months usually after opening to use it by.
My question is what was she doing Before you applied the oil to her clothes?? any outside activities?? she may have had an irritant on her clothes and the oil allowed it to seep through her clothes and make contact with her skin. Also check the ingredients of the oil depending on what its made from she might have a contact allergy to like tree nuts. Hope this helps narrow it down. I would give the clothes she was in a deep wash to be safe.
Thanks for the input. The clothes had been washed recently but hung in the sun to dry. It's possible that the garden area near where the clothes were left a pollen on her shirt or that the weather being warm caused her sensitivity to kick in and feel too hot. We're definitely dumping the oil out and buying new stuff though.

This was literally my thought. Also, are there any other allergens that normally bother her? I remember when we found out my ex had Celiac and a gluten allergy so sensitive that touching bread or flour was what was causing their eczema breakouts.

Been wracking my mind trying to figure it out today. She's got super sensitive skin to start with and a touch allergy to a cacti in our garden. Combine the windy, hot weather leaving pollen from the cacti on her shirt, warm temperatures in the bedroom and her being soaked in oil that we found out was past its prime and it led to an accelerated allergic reaction. She took a cold bath just a little while ago and used Dawn dish soap for a warm bubble bath before that. I bought her some "milk and honey" oatmeal infused lotion and gave her a nice massage. She's clear now, but she's taking a nap. I'll check on her again in a couple of hours.
The clothes she wore have been cleaned with Dawn, Oxy Clean and boiling water, so we should be ok with her wearing them again. Just for my happiness, I will show a photo of a recent happy time from a convention we had a blast at.

I have seen this first hand. The additives in baby oil can sometimes trigger irritation or a reaction. I've made a switch to coconut oil and even the base of Baby Oil which is mineral oil (Good for those nut allergy folks) due to the fact that not everyone can tolerate the fragrance they toss in it, my fiancé being one of them. Could also be a bad lot? Possibly but I chose to go with a safer alternative.
We're looking into nuru gel for the future. Usually we prefer sweet stuff, but the occasional slippery, slimy, see through clothes make out sessions are amazing.

It really does. Depending on who it's made by, the viscosity is very similar to baby oil and it is actually beneficial to the shin and hair which is another bonus. I've ran into a few women who can't really do baby oil because they all state that it was harsh on their skin which tells me that the fragrance is probably the culprit. It's relatively cheap off Amazon. Try it out
