So, I recently bought a 6 pack of gel food colorings that were made for chefs. They're big (10.5 oz. each), so I knew they'd go farther than the stupid little food coloring drops you can buy at the store. It was a neon variety pack with pink, purple, blue, green, yellow, and orange. Well, I work from home and my wife doesn't anymore, so I decided to make myself a little slime today and have fun, clean up, and she would be none the wiser when she got home. I chose to use the purple and maybe I put too much in there?, but now my face, chest, hands, feet, legs, arms, everything is stained pink.
I was literally scrubbing my skin until it fell like it would bleed and it's not coming off. It also stained the bathtub and the mixing bowl, but I'm thinking I can still clean those with a bleach-based cleaner before she gets home. My skin though? I think I'm going to have to fess up and face the music and hopefully share a laugh with her about it.
The silver lining is that I was planning on using these when we have my birthday session in a couple weeks. It's the only time each year I get to pie and slime her. Maybe she will be happy knowing that I was the guinea pig on this and not her. I know for a fact she would have been livid if I stained her skin for my fetish. Lol.
I think its safe to say you've been caught red ...well pink handed.
She knows about your fetish which'll make the conversation a lot less awkward and the chances are she'll see the funny side of this. As long as the house is clean just fess up when she questions your ...errrm 'sun tan' and be ready to have a good laugh at your expense.
So, throughout the day, before she got home, I kept scrubbing away at it and took another shower. I got my face and arms and legs mostly normal looking again. But I had two giant pink streaks down my back that I couldn't reach and had now way of cleaning, plus my palms, feet, fingertips and chest were still pink.
Maybe it was because the house was a little dark by the time she got home, or maybe I did a good job of hiding it, but I don't think she noticed. Today I had to do yardwork and I got really sweaty and dirty and showered again and I think it's all gone now. It really had me worried. Lol. Crisis averted for now.
Because most slime (and WAM) is food based, people tend to get fixated with food based solutions to colouring it. We're not (usually) going to be intentionally eating any of this stuff so non toxic paints and powder pigments are a much more effective solution - there's also a greater choice! Strong colours can always carry a stain risk (to salon lightened hair and clothing) but food colourings are particularly tenacious when it comes to the skin and not always providing the most vivid colours.
but now my face, chest, hands, feet, legs, arms, everything is stained pink.
I'm in the opposite situation - I love to get stained. What brand of food coloring did you use? I've yet to find any food coloring that stays on my skin.
I'm so glad you posted this, I'm legit scared of this happening to me! I almost got Smurfed myself with blue dye during a sliming shoot that we ended up cancelling because the slime didn't mix well. We were trying to use shaving cream and water, added dye, pretty simple. But it turns out that shaving cream and water separates after you let it sit. So Jessica Ryan dumped a bucket over my head and what came out was just straight blue dye water, it definitely looked like ink. Both she and Wamfan immediately said, "OH NOOOO! That's not good, go wash off right now!" It was one of those moments where the looks on their faces made me so scared to look in the mirror! But fortunately, I was able to get it off since we didn't let it set. So glad I'm not the only one!

OMG! Same thing happened to my wife and I when I tried to make shaving cream slimes. The water separated and yeah, blue stained some of my skin (mostly the soles of my feet), and pink stained some of my wife's skin (though hers wasn't as bad, and pink is a little more natural to see as part of our skin tones). Only lasted a day or so though.

First off, you might be a little crazy lmao. But here is the link to the blue one on Amazon. I tried finding the 6-pack I bought but couldn't find it. You should be able to get them individually though by digging around. The company is Chefmaster.

Wow!
I finally just fessed up and told her even though she didn't notice anything out of place. I waited until Saturday night to tell her. She didn't really care but she did say "Serves you right." and "You just had to get that off your chest, huh?" Lol
