I think that the common feature in almost all the photos selected is the word "fun". You get the impression that the girls were really enjoying themselves, a testimony to the "great man".
This post definitely brings me back, picked up my first copy of Splosh in the mid 90's at an adult bookstore in NYC. Now, currently the owner of 25 different copies. I used to think that only women in the UK enjoyed getting messy back then, haha.

Agreed.
These photos and scenes are still the 'benchmark' and 'template' as far as I'm concerned. ("How would Bill have done it?")
It's the secret to getting anyone involved in this insanity. Making it look like it's too much fun not to try. When it's working everyone's smiling. Bill and Splosh! unlocked that idea.
I'll also drop this one in. Related to picture 9 (last picture post)
A fantastic set of colour filled images there Le Rex. Perfect sploshing!
One aspect of Splosh! that made it so brilliant was the quality of Bill's writing. His commentaries for the centrefold stories were a turn-on in themselves and packed full of trigger words and alliteration. Get a load of this from 'Maid of Mud' :
'The clogged jacket came off, and she began giving her frilly blouse a mud massage. Down each arm went Dyfed's dirtiest, then sensuously slowly, she coated her boobs until they almost disappeared beneath the deep black layer...'
and later...
'...applying yet more yucky muck to her much maltreated mammaries'
Every story was full of it!
Hope others enjoyed that aspect of Splosh! as much as I did.

Yeah I completely agree, Bill's writing was quite amazing, he was an absolute wordsmith. It was very clever how he would fit in a Splosh related name, and his bad puns really made and give the fun element. A WAM genius.
More pics, including a remaster of the very first issue.

Bill's were particularly colourful and memorable and he learned to do it in a world where WAM images were fewer (indeed, extremely scarce!), infrequent and engaging prose both bolstered and expanded the fantasies very effectively. His was a bawdy comedy style he tailored for modern day, playful smut that goes back hundreds of years and was in line with his view that sex and fantasy should be fun, if not even funny. Above all nothing to be ashamed of.
One my favourites (I borrow, sparingly) is
"[Splosh!] is ashamed to present"
This still makes me laugh (delivered by Bill on a soundtrack in the hushed voice of some high brow sophisticate a la Melvyn Bragg)
Language is very important to lots of us - and most of us are Splosh! fans (look at Rev. Slymsford's download descriptions).
Even in the simplest description, there can be 'trigger' words and particular phrases. I've started posts on this topic before.
One thing I keep meaning to bring up is the character limit on text with gallery photos - which I think is way too few. I've resorted to adding text to the comments section underneath which allows 176 (I think) rather than only 60. It's good to be concise - but this is barely enough space to attribute the model, let alone a simple, delicious sentence.

I agree, Trouso. Your "two mature women of the World who should know better" description of Duberdee & Isla's shenanigans is good illustration (from Let Her Have It). Very Bill, I thought
