I'm due to gunge someone in a hotel in few weeks time (Premier Inn.. or as we call it, the Purple Palace!)
To anyone experienced with gunging in hotels: - What's the best way to deal with mess? - Would you use a paddling pool and move the furniture around to accommodate it or just use the bath? - If using the bath, are they suitable? Are we going to stain them? Should I be using plastic sheeting up the tiles?
I just want to cover all bases now... as if this one goes well we will be looking to do some filming (to go up on here).
The question is. What do you want to do? How big is the room or the bath. If you have a nice big bath tube or a big shower its maybe the easiest way. Then you can wash it down. The one time i had it in a hotel we did it on the bed. It was a good feeling too. But we had ro use a lot of plastic foil to secure the bed and the carpet. And dont use the thin one or very sticky things like honey or marshmallow fluff otherwise you will stick on to it and maybe destroy the foil. It is a lot of work to do before and after but it is worth it because the bath room is good but the hard covers don't invite to last very long. But on a cosy matress in a warm room you can enjoy it for hours
We're doing it primarily as a shoot. It's not like we're going to be writhing around on the bed in it for hours after, or having sex in it tbh... it's more for the sake of a shoot!
We're using a Premier Inn, so this is the bathroom: http://a.mktgcdn.com/p/BSIa_kcnVlsFYxgkRyBncssefof8kw-HnZDT5ipl6JQ/620x358.jpg
So I'm thinking some plastic sheeting taped up the back walls just so it doesn't stain the tiling... then the rest can just be washed down the drain.
I always use disabled bathrooms in premier inn or Travelodge there bigger and everything is wipe clean I have used custard porridge Gunge with no issues
Thanks for your support guys. I've booked a double room on the saver rate... so I imagine trying to change to a disabled room will incur charges... so will have to struggle on this time... but atleast I know for future
I can vouch for Travelodge, which I use on my annual gunge sessions in the UK. Never have had a problem with cleanup, carting out the remains (bring thick plastic bags which can be stuffed into a suitcase), stains on white tubs/sinks/walls, etc. Nothing against Travelodge, but most of them are a bit worn-looking, so a few extra rips or smudges possibly won't be noticed.
As for materials, anything sugar-based is excellent, since that melts away down the drain. I've never had a problem with treacle, for example. But avoid anything like beans that could potentially clog a drain - it's that much more trouble trying to remove, and awfully hard to explain to the motel managers.
I've never had to cover the walls or anything else with plastic sheeting, but then I've always played in the bathroom. Also, bring along some bathroom cleaner and those blue cheap handiwipes that come in multipacks - it's amazing where the mess can get to once you've started. And definitely give yourself more than enough time to clean up the room before you check out. I usually do a cleaning right after the session, and then I follow up after showering the next morning.
Ah ok. It's not for sex in general. Then take the bad. Much easier. If you use ketchup or other things that could ruin the tile. Yes use a plastic sheet. And most important send us pictures in the end.
It'll be fine. Ive never heard of things staining. If you dont use the bath (I would always use the bath) then tarp up really well. Ive gunged in quite a few hotels including the Hilton and we used some right nasty stuff and got away with it. carry everything in via black binbags or carrier bags. worse case scenario leave tarps and rubbish there I normally leave a fiver tip never had an issue.
First of all, make sure you have plenty binbags. They're the most important thing for a clean up. Secondly, if you're using the bath/shower, always make sure the taps are running and plughole isn't blocked. Next, if you're going to be using a chair, a dust sheet or two will help. Cover the chair and the surrounding areas with the sheets (I don't think they're too expensive). Another thing is bring a couple of spare towels. The hotel ones will only provide limited clean up before they're too dirty. Next, if you have them, some cleaning wipes will help get any splodges off the walls and the furniture. You could easily get a pack of them from a pound shop.
That's most bases covered when it comes to cleaning up. Have fun and enjoy your session
