When Susie first came to us she had short spikey hair with an undercut. But one night she was shaving her undercut and accidentally went further than she meant to - and then decided to just go for it and shave her head completely - and the results were stunning! I'd always wanted to shoot with a shaven headed model, it's a strong female look I've admired since the days of Sinead O'Connor, but shaved models are few and far between, so Susie deciding to go that way was brilliant. For a while she kept it completely shaved to skin, then adopted the ultra short buzzcut look she has here.
Don't get me wrong, I love long hair too, especially for things like custard shampooing. But there is something about the shaved and butch look that has always really appealed to me.
