Hey guys! My boyfriend is a big WAM fan and I was thinking of planning a little surprise for him; I'm thinking of a slime bath but as I'm a bit of a novice I wanted to ask advice here! My current plan is to add cornflour and food colouring to a warm bath and have a bit of a play, but I have a few questions for the more experienced wammers out there - Does cornflour typically irritate anyones skin, will it retain the warmth or go cold, and will it block the drains when we are finished?? Any tips and hints would be greatly appreciated
For the love of god and your plumbing please don't do cornflour and water. Would highly recommend cake bater (yeah, a shit ton of it) or natrasol for this situation. Will wash out a ton better as well.
Gellibaff is always a good cheap alternative and turns back to water again so doesn't risk the plumbing. If it's a surprise it mixes quick too so would stay warm, a bath full of Natrasol would take time to mix up.
I WOULDN'T recommend "Gellibaff", I've used the adult equivalent (i.e. gellibaff texture, with more "grown up" scent and less fluourescent colouring) & it felt almost dry & very grainy as well as getting cold pretty quickly.
You could fill the bath with custard (either made from powder or cartons), but this could be expensive for sensible looking quantities in a bath... or you could by commercial gunge, which might well work out cheaper & reasonably simple.
Are you going to surprise him by being in it when he gets home, or by suggesting it and then following through? If it's the former, just make sure you know his schedule and don't end up stuck there for three hours while he's out. If it's the latter, as long as you have a way to squirrel away the preparation stuff so he doesn't stumble across it you should be good to go.
How expensive is oatmeal where you are? Keeping it warm long enough might be tricky (not to mention getting it down the drain) but it can be made thicker or thinner relatively easily.
As long as you're not feeling obligated, which I can say for myself at least makes things less enjoyable, you're bound to have a great time. Good luck and have fun!
@Watcher8 Oh its not an obligation! I enjoy it and I get a kick out of how crazy turned on he is by it so it'll be a fun night. I think I'm gonna squirrel away the supplies in the bathroom (I have a big ol' wicker basket of bath bombs and bath salts and bubble bath he's basically blind to) Oatmeal? Now that IS an interesting idea.... @Simon_Templar I was so tempted by custard for ages but its just not economical, sadly enough. I was disapointed by Gellibaff reviews too.
Having had a look at a natrasol website I think thats what I'll go for, they sell mixes which are good for 10L which should make a respectable amount for some slippery fun, especially as my plan is to keep it thin-ish and gloopy XD
On a seperate note, this community is just the nicest.
A bath full of Natrosol gunge wouldn't, in theory, take that long if you have a paint mixer attachment on the end of a drill and a few buckets.
Lets assume you make it up in 10-12L buckets, and an average bath (in the UK) uses around 100L water, so it's 8-10 buckets.
Natrosol usually thickens in around 5 minutes of mixing from adding the powder to water, so 40-50 minutes of mixing.
You could make it up in bigger batches, which would shorten prep time - maybe using something like a Tubtrug - but then you also have to lift and pour it into the bath.
For disposal, I would not put it straight down the bath plughole, but scoop it out of the bath and flush it away down the toilet. Only flush away down the drain bits that are left, with plenty of water.
That said, I've never had to make and/or dispose that amount of gunge in one go myself so bear in mind I'm not talking with any authority here, and others may have better suggestions.
Natrosol gunge will usually stay warm for a while, as the thickness slows down convection, which is the normal way an open container of water loses heat.
