There was a scene in a movie where a man and a women were in a restaurant kitchen and they started taking it in turns to splat each other with a few things lime cake, getting each other in the armpits, glasses, handbag too before they start making out after it. Does anyone know what film it was from?
The above scene looks quite close to your description.
It also made me think of a sketch from a later series of 'Alas Smith and Jones'* which features a man and a woman having a row: there's a great bit where the guy fills his wife's handbag with cream and then claps his hands on it so that it explodes into her face.
*Comedians Mel Smith and Griff Rhys Jones - fun fact: the title was a pun on the (now) long forgotten 1970s US western series 'Alias Smith and Jones' which was still being shown in the 80s in the UK.
Your description sounds a lot like the romantic food fight between Mélanie Doutey and Jean-Paul Rouve in the 2007 French movie "Ce soir je dors chez toi". See the picture.
