We've just released a fully-clothed hairwash hosedown scene, and as we usually count hosedown scenes as wetlook we've promoted it over in the wetlook forum. However an important part of the scene is the girls very thoroughly lathering up their hair, and then rinsing off, with lashings of shampoo - we deliberately wanted as much foam as possible and got them to use loads more shampoo than they would for a normal hairwash. Once their hair is totally encased in white foam they then rinse it off with the hose, with the foam flooding down the backs of their soaking wet outfits and over their bottoms.
So, out of curiosity, would the community consider that to be a wetlook scene, or a messy one?
We usually shoot a few of these each year on the end a set of mud scenes. After the final mud scene the girls strip out of their muddy clothes but keep their wet underwear on, pull on dry "travelling back" outfits (usually overalls or sportswear), we drive back to base and they then hose each other down in the, by now somewhat damp, travelling back clothes, including very thorough hairwashing. So wondering for future reference how other people would regard these. Comments welcome as well as poll votes!

Cinq and Soug said: I vote for both, as shaving foam pies are classed as messy, shampoo is foam. This is on my to do list love it
Must admit I kind of agree with you both, but from a promotional POV I need to pick one, I don't think MM or anyone else would be happy if I was spamming releases in both forums.
I've not voted yet to avoid priming the results, will be interesting to see what people think.
@Cinq: Definitely do it, I recommend it. Trick is to stand completely straight when the water goes on, and ideally be wearing dark-coloured clothes (dark top and jeans is good) to really show off the flowing foam in contrast. One thing I've seen is some of our girls are naturally very helpful and tend to try and lean towards the person with the hose to make it easier, but if they do that then the flow isn't straight down their back and over their bum, so we always say beforehand to stand dead straight, no leaning.
Lady J and I have done this to each other in the dungeon pool a few times too - we tend to spend a couple of hours, fully dressed, in the 6' paddling pool, starting empty then filling it with warm water around us, and eventually washing each other's hair. Lovely way to spend a locked down afternoon together, and nice and warm in this bitter weather too.
This is my opinion. Soap based foam is very much wet look (if even that!). There's nothing subversive about hair in a soapy lather aside from a very mainstream kind of sensuousness.
Messy WAM is most appropriately carried out with matter out of its usual context. Something 'shampooed' in that really shouldn't be - or isn't usually - added to hair. Something inconvenient that will have to be washed out with some extra effort!

That's a good point re soap vs anything else, though hairwashing while fully dressed is partly subversive, most people wash in the nude normally. The part of these scenes that appeals most to me is seeing the flood of foam down the model's back and over her fully clothed bottom when the hose is put on her head to rinse. Having said that I've always thought of them as wetlook, but saw something recentlyt that suggested anything other than clean fresh water actually counted as messy, hence wondering what the consensus view would be.
So far the poll is 22/14 wetlook/messy (the 23rd wetlook vote is mine), so it's actually closer than I'd expected, though still definitely skewing to wetlook. Poll runs to Thursday, will be interesting to see what it's at when it ends.
