So I just read this Report in The Atlantic Magazine about something called a "Hagfish" which appears to be a sea creature considered edible in Asia. What really caught my eye was THIS:
(Quote) "Typically, a hagfish will release less than a teaspoon of gunk from the 100 or so slime glands that line its flanks. And in less than half a second, that little amount will expand by 10,000 times--enough to fill a sizable bucket. Reach in, and every move of your hand will drag the water with it. "It doesn't feel like much at first, as if a spider has built a web underwater," says Douglas Fudge of Chapman University. But try to lift your hand out, and it's as if the bucket's contents are now attached to you."
There is MUCH more in the Article, some of it quite curious and exciting reading to the WAM enthusiast. My question is: Has anyone ever tried Hagfish Slime as a WAM material? Is it safe? Is it another possible "NuRu Massage Gel type stuff that can be good for WAM? Read the report, it also has pics and video an it really got my mind and curiosity aroused!!
Kind of like that, but I was more thinking of finding a way of harvesting or synthesizing this substance, like in a bottle add water to 1/2 cup and it expands filling a 5 gal bucket.
