With bbc bringing back robot wars after 12 years with great success. It got me thinking what would it be like if get your own back was brought back to. Instead of a kids show it could become a Saturday evening entertainment show for the family on before strictly come dancing and all that. What would people like to see. a new host, older people or friends getting there own back. What type of gunk dunk system. What ideas do others have if they could bring the show?
Certainly dave makes the show and that is no doubt. I just think he is dated for tv now.
I have always liked the idea of revenge on gyob. Hell even a segment were an unexpecting member in the audience is pulled out and gunged after being setup would be a cool thing to see
A few years ago, I wrote some stories about a girl (who was very much based on me) who kept getting on the wrong end of gunge!
The basic story arc was that the main character was a rather hapless girl - Kate - who kept getting herself into messy situations courtesy of her friend - Sam - who seemed to have an amazing knack for deflecting mess onto her. I wrote a number of stories where Kate got increasingly messy and humiliated in front of larger and larger crowds and then the next was going to be GYOB themed, but then I kind of lost interest.
Basically, my plan was that Kate would get really, really messy during the games because she's so enthusiastic to get Sam messy; whereas Sam would be slow and methodical and basically win every game. Then when it got to the end, Sam would ace the questions and Kate would end up messy and humiliated on national TV with Sam walking away virtually mess free!
BTW, if anyone would arrange for me to act this out and play the part of Kate it would be much appreciated. Also, if you'd like to arrange the scenarios leading up to it, that would be good too. Thanks.
Sounds like a good story plot. I used to write a lot and done my own versions of gyob. I'd love to see a site try an attempt to do something along the theme of it. 3 silly games scoring points followed by a quiz round to see who gets gunged in a dunk tank or something
