I'm wondering does anyone know of any gunge or slime types or makes that can easily be used i say a bath or shower and easily washed away/hosed away?
I'm asking as I am tempted to try and see someone here in the uk where i live and a fair few of them offer sploshing and ngl it would be nice to do some gunging.
The proper gunge mixes from the likes of Messy Supplies and Messy Pup are all easy to dispose of in a bath. Just add plenty of water to the leftover gunge mix and leave it for a bit and it thins out the gunge mix to the point where it can easily flow down the drain. When I've used larger quantities in the past I've got as much of the mix as possible back into buckets to store it and have then disolved the gunge mix in the bath, one bucket at a time.
Technically speaking- icing sugar is the most easily disposed of, since it'll fully and easily dissolve in water, but it'll be hellishly expensive to mix enough for a gunging.
Shaving foam gunge/slime are soap based, and also would be fully harmless to the plumbing. Never used it myself, but there's plenty of posts on here about mixing it.
Tempura paint (Children's poster paint like "Scola Artmix")- water based poster paint, fully non toxic and designed not to stain. Comes ready mixed, and easy to wash off non-porous surfaces. When used neat it can still stain clothing, towels etc, especially light/white fabrics. Unlikely to stain when used as a gunge colouring, as long as clothing/towels etc go straight in the washing machine. [This is the recommended option for adding colour to gunge- food colouring is other 'safe' option but much more likely to stain clothes/skin. Do NOT use fabric dyes or any DIY paint such as house/gloss/metal paints].
Slube (/Slime Baff)- very easy to mix and very slippery gunge. Easily dissolves to drain away, but sometimes leaves a layer on the skin thats slightly harder to wash off. [Slime Baff is basically the kid's version of Slube- both products feel almost identical and I'm 99% sure they use the same base ingredient]
The Messysupplies's catalogue gives you some excellent options: ==Instant slime/mud, and jelli mix- very easy to mix, and breaks down with table salt. ==MS gunge- their standard gunge- easy to mix, but sometimes takes a little elbow grease to clean up since a thick mix is slightly water repellent. Use the scrubbers I mention below, and dispose of in toilet. ==Clayzee Colours- my personal favourite! More intense opaque colours than MS gunge, easy to mix and easier to clean than MS. ==VIVI Stretch slime- mixing the extreme is a little convoluted, but well worth the effort if you'll enjoy a stretchy stringy slime that flows around the body. Second favourite when mixed thick- it's a lot of fun. Stays fast flowing even when mixed thick, but leaves a thin layer on the skin that can be tedious to clean off. ------------------------------------
If you're worried about blocked pipes- dispose of as much gunge as you can in the toilet first before you start washing down the bath/shower. [Scoop it into a bucket until half full, top of with water and swish your hand through it a few times before you pour it down the toilet].
If you wet down the walls of the bath/shower first, it'll help stop the gunge from sticking or drying on.
Mesh shower loofa/scrubber such as https://www.messysupplies.com/collections/mess-removers Some of the best tools for cleaning off gunge- both on humans and equipment. [Sponges and cloths work- but often get clogged with gunge, so you'll spend more time cleaning the sponge than cleaning the mess. Gunges easily rinse out of the mesh loofa].
Arrowroot flour makes a gunge that it slippery and slimy and can be made nice and thick. Just adding water will instantly turn it into a thin liquid that will easily go down drains.
The only problem is the time required to make it, as it needs water that is near the boiling point. I have a short video here with full instructions:
Custard regular or especially soya based just dissolves away with warm water. Probably the quickest and easiest to get hold of if you just wanted to try with something thicker. Feels amazing.
All of the gunge we have used and sold over the years will dilute down with more water. When we fill the dunk tank we just put a hose in and a pump and as it dilutes it pumps out easier. The only thing to watch in a bath is that it is mixed properly with no lumps. Even if you did get some lumps, add more water and use a bucket to scoop it out to dispose down the toilet.
At present we are clearly what we have and do have our Xantham Gum in various colours with change out of £10 for 3 x Buckets.
