Hello everyone. Again I want to say thank you all so much for your amazing response in purchasing our gunge tank valves, it makes us so happy to know we're helping everyone live out their home gunge tank dreams.
I know they've been out of stock for a while but they're back in stock now and we've made some adjustments to our production facilities to keep them in stock as best we can.
Than kyou to everyone who bought valves in this batch, another amazing response selling out in less than a week. If you didn't get one in this batch don't panic we are making another batch ready for you to enjoy. Also stay tuned for developments in the world of home gunge tank technology.

Sounds exciting, I resisted buying as I don't yet have a tank ready to install one but I'm very interestedparticularly in the 'developments'!

Well I'm going to try and keep the valves in stock so when you're ready for tour tank build then hopefully you should be able to get one. I'm also quite excited for the developments too.
And for those wondering, the new add ons will be compatible with the mk2 valve.
Hopefully we should be showing off the developments in the next few weeks.
Sounds like you're in full tinkering mode, haha. Can't wait to see what you cook up. Have been wondering if your valve could handle food mess? Beans etc.

So you're not the first person to ask this. I know one of the previous buyers is going to be trying it out with some chunkier style mess (beans I believe) so we're waiting to hear back from them. I can't see any reason why it wouldn't effect the opening function of the valve but on closing it might be difficult to get a good seal if there's any chunks left in the sealing surface. We've only done functional tests with gunge. Both messy supplies and messy pup gunge in all the thicknesses.

It is something I'd like to do but I'm really not sure on the shipping costs. If you're interested in seeing if we can figure something out drop me a message abd we can go through it.

The whole frame is quite the endeavour, I'd love to have the space for a full tank set up but unfortunately I don't. I'm happy with our suspended bucket solution for now. I'm sure you'll come up with something. Maybe you could find an open minded maker in your area that could help you out.

How did you manage to suspend a full bucket safely in a shower or bath?
So we actually have an eye bolt I put in going through a joist above the shower. It's real life use is for hanging wet bike stuff up after riding in the rain. It's quite substantial and easily strong enough. The bucket is just a black bucket from toolstation that I've swapped the handle out for some chain and shackles. Obviously it's not a one size fits all solution but it works for us. Hope that helps.

Thank you. Any pictures or more information would be great and maybe would put more of us in a situation where we are ready to buy. Also, when selling this stuff I don't think the need for a substantial, strong and above all safe solution to support the weight can ever really be stressed enough!

You're right suspending weight up high is always a risk and definitely one one of the reasons I've not been too detailed about how to do it. The setup we have is obviously suitable for the location we have abd I've got a good amount of experience in the construction industry to know how best to make use of what I have available in my house. Obviously this wouldn't fit everyone's situation and I would want anyone to copy what I've done abd have an accident.
I can share some images of my setup bucket wise but not really the structural things.
The bucket is one from toolstation with an appropriate hole made in it, the handle has bee swapped for some chain with shackles to hang it perpendicular. The valve is sealed in with silicone sealant.

Thanks again for the tips. I'd love to know more about how to build for such a device when we rebuild our bathroom. Although I can completely understand why you might hold back from sharing where there is a real risk of somebody copying but not installing it safely. It's hard to find good advice on this!

Yeah it's tricky to find info on something like this. It's not really in many DIY manuals haha. I think probably the best place to start is to look at things like eye/hook bolts online and see if anything there guides you into it, if you're going for a ceiling fixing. If you're looking to build a tank frame then maybe seeing if there's some guides or info on something like industrial shelving. I'd love to be able to give much better answers but I think if you have any doubts about how to suspend weight safely then you should probably seek the input of someone with experience in DIY projects that could come and take a look at your setup.
just a quick question, what gunge was used in the demo's im looking a messy supplies and unsure if the xtra thick might be too much for the valve diffuser at the base
bea said: just a quick question, what gunge was used in the demo's im looking a messy supplies and unsure if the xtra thick might be too much for the valve diffuser at the base
It was the messy supplies standard gunge for the main colour with a bit of thick gunge as the secondary colour.
You can use any thickness you like really but the standard gunge gives tge best flow if you're after the dome effect. Obviously thicker gunge will make for longer abd slower gungings which would mean you'd have to have the button pressed down longer.
The hoses had become detached during posting and I couldn't re-fit them with the original clips. Ended up buying a couple of leur lock style syringes and glued the locking ends back in place with some waterproof locktite. It's easy enough to fit the valve into the base of a bucket, and just seal well with bathroom sealant.
The main challenge is how to suspend a 20kg bucket. Eventually went with a removable eye-bolt style hook in the ceiling. When it's not needed, just unscrew the hook. An 8mm plug for the hole and the eye-bolt fixing is pretty much invisible. Obviously check carefully that a solid joist is holding the weight, and not plasterboard or some DIY fixings if you were going to try this.
Try not to get any gunge on the bucket handle/chain when filling it, or you'll have no chance lifting it up.. To keep the valve open you need to hold the syringe down, but the flow is good. The gunge totally covered the Mrs and managed to find itself inside most of her clothes when emptying the full bucket during testing. Hopefully she lets us try one of the other nozzle fittings at some point.

Thank you so much for your purchase. I'm so sorry that your valve got damaged in transit. I'll make sure tgat we improve the packaging to make sure that this doesn't happen to anyone else. So glad it worked as you wanted and delivered the gunging you wanted, and I'm glad to hear there's another willing wife out there eager to take a gunging in the name of wam technology.
Quick update, we still have valves in stock but we will not be fulfilling orders between the 16th of December and the 6th of January so if you want to get your order in then please do so. If not we will be looking forward to getting your orders in January. When we'll also be launching some new products.
