So my original gunge tank build idea was using a pallet rack. Came across someone selling a homemade pull up bar locally. Still going to mess with my original idea (no pun intended), but this makes for a nice alternative. Figure if it can support the weight of an adult male, it can safely hold a bucket of gunge

Seriously though, I have to agree, that wire handle is a [Significant Point Of Failure] and a definite safety hazard. Any weight in this bucket (in this state) will be held dependent solely on the tensile strength of the Wire in the Handle and how it connects to both holes in the plastic bucket, if either goes, it's going to fall on whoever is in the chair.
That is not safe, and you SHOULD NOT risk putting anyone underneath in this current state.

True d'at! What should we call it??

Thanks! T'is a work in progress still, but hopefully get it sorted soon!

I appreciate your concern and will add a ratchet strap to the set up as a secondary measure
Suppose it has just been dumb luck, but I have been using this bucket set up for 10+ years (since the ol' Janet days, actually) for wetlook shoots without incident. Would hang it from a tree and I was always more concerned with the strength of the limb than the bucket handle. That tree has actually grown so much over the years that I can no longer reach the limb I used to hang it from

That's a great looking setup, you should get some great results from that.
We got in our first test and I am happy to report it was overall successful! Andi even broke out a brand new formal gown for the occasion We did this test using my old 5 gallon (~19 liter) bucket with a 2" hole filled with SplatterEmporium.com Ultra Thick Light Green Gunge. We had previously only used this bucket set up for wetlook, but the release mechanism worked fine for gunge. And overall I think the 2" hole size was appropriate for this amount and thickness of gunge. One thing I was worried about was that the "dome" of gunge would be wider than the height of the IBC tote base could catch. It actually worked out fine, no gunge landed outside the base! I'm not sure if a lower viscosity gunge would make a wider dome. The only thing that did not go as planned was our water pump would not pick up this gunge so we weren't able to reuse it. This was our first time using the Ultra Thick gunge. Our little water pump was able to pump the Regular and Thick versions of the gunge in the past. In hindsight we should have had a dust pan or a square container handy to scoop up the gunge in the bottom of the tank. Live and learn Here's some pics of the test

No slight meant towards Andi in any way, of course, but damn, do I miss Janet!
I know the background story, obviously, but the images are still top notch!
Didn't think this was worthy of its own thread so figured I'd tack it on here. Finally had free time, weather and motivation line up enough to break out the lawn mower for the first time this year! Good thing too because I had already let the grass/weeds get out of hand Here's a behind-the-scenes look at our "sploshing field" on the back side of the property with our various toys (dunk tank, bathtubs, inflatable pool, gunge tank components, etc.). If you look closely, you can even see some high heel shoes from our latest sploshing adventures drying on top of the upside down bathtubs Even got a close up of the area where we shoot a lot of the messy sploshings. I don't think grass will ever grow there again...

Dressed to the 9s, and the fun look she has. i always love the fun you two have
I saw this last week and forgot to comment, but it was too good not to leave a compliment
I love the dress - the glimpse of a leg, the black tights and black gloves. And it's great to see the before and after - Andi looks awesome both clean, and slimed
For me I love the gunge / slime to be green, and this looks a perfect consistency
Well done both, and I hope to see Andi in the gunge tank many more times over the Summer
