I'm wanting a gunge tank but won't have the space to keep it. My next thing to do is a bucket and release mechanism to suspend the bucket and pull the plug to enjoy a messy shower. Has anyone got any tried and tested tips for doing so

I fully understand the space issue.

As a rough gunge tank this works.

As the frame of the tank you could use a show rack, you can get them that are 6 foot in height that fully clip together, assemble with just the top shelf.

Next, the bucket, you can get large bowls that have a plug as part of them (saves cutting one), and of course a plug.

Then the mechanism. A toilet cistern lever will do the job.

Attach the whole on the middle of it to the shoe rack, then the plug at one end, and chain/pull robe at the other.
Place the fully loaded bowl onto of the shoe rack. Hang the pull robe down so you can reach it. Now sit under the bowl, and pull the robe...oooh lovely.

I have to admit it's very rough. But it does the job.

The set up we have used for some of our wetlook shoots is just a 5 gallon bucket with a toilet flapper added in as a release. Assuming it would work just as well for slime/gunge. Just remember you are hanging a lot of weight over your head so make sure it is secure before getting under it

Can't like this enough - makes me wince when people post pics of heavy buckets of gunge suspended from flimsy shower rails

Is it definitely necessary to have it right over your head? What about having it above but behind and the gunge goes down a pipe?
