Anyone played around with it? How sticky exactly is it? How hard is it to clean? Anyone know how many Litres you get out of a 1kg bucket of it? Any stories, information or advice would be great ;p Stay WAM
Never heard of 'glucose syrup' specifically. Here in the states we have 'corn syrup' or 'high fructose corn syrup' - both of which are...as the name suggests... mostly fructose. But I expect the overall product is fairly similar.
I've never played in the syrup directly, though I did whip several gallons into essentially marshmallow fluff - and that was an insanely sticky, gooey fun time! So I doubt you could go wrong.
My old physics book shows most sugar syrup around 1.3g/mL density. So if math serves, only about 3/4 liter in 1 kg. Definitely heaver than water, so less than 1L per kg.
If you want more sticky for less money, you might try getting regular granulated (white) sugar and mixing anywhere from 1:1 to 2:1 sugar:water ratio by volume. Boil that solution to dissolve and convert it to a 'simple sugar syrup'.
