I'm curious as to how everyone keeps it interesting getting wet during the cold winter months when its too cold for water fights, walks in the rain, walking into lakes and all the rest of it?
I'm a big fan of getting soaked in the bath or the shower (see my photos!) but I'm wondering if anybody has any ideas of how to keep that fresh and interesting?
Do you take the winter off, restrict it to the occasional shower, or have you found a good way to continue your wet fun throughout?
1) it may be cold, but getting wet in the rain isn't always avoidable; I bike to work, so when it rains, you get wet, whether intended or not. Sometimes just a little wet, sometimes soaked to the skin.
2) in Holland it's a kind of a custom for young guys to try out the ice on ditches, ponds etc. You try and cross the ice without breaking into it. You understand this often results in getting wet, even when it freezes. When you get completely soaked, of course you go home to warm up and change. If you just sink in to your knees or so, most guys just endure the soggy shoes. Most of the time you return to school/job/whatever, so your feet won't freeze (and in Holland it's usually not that extremely cold). Certainly at school you would be considered a little whimpy when you would go home just for wet feet, so it was the perfect excuse to spend all day squelching in your shoes.
3) of course you shouldn't get completely soaked, and stay outside and exposed when it's really cold, but personally being wet from the legs down, can still be fun. And in (Dutch) ditches with a lot of mud, the water can be cold, but the mud feels relavitely warm. So the "I cracked through the ice" excuse for showing up at your job with wet pants and shoes, is very usable. It depends a little on your job; an office job is less suitable; if you work with a lot of guys in a garden/DIY store like me, it's no problem; the other guys even think you're really tough when you just work and don't seem to be bothered by wet pants/shoes.
4) inside is always a backup option; shower/bath, and as a bonus, you can wear your (still) wet shoes outside as well the next day!
If I wear a waterproof winter jacket it is very nice to walk in the rain in the cold season. My rain-soaked winter jacket shines very well. And when I get home I go into the shower with my winter jacket on.
Many times, for relaxation and pleasure, in the cold season, I prefer to shower dressed in pants, jeans, blouse, shirt, t-shirt, sweater, leggings, tracksuit.
Although I am a man, for more pleasure I was experiencing what it's like to be dressed in women's clothes: dresses, skirts. In my youth I liked to bathe and shower in my work robes.
I bundle up and don't let the cold weather stop me from haveing fun and getting wet. I have spontaneously waded into multiple local lakes, ponds, and creeks fully clothed during the cold winter months more time than I can count. I even try and keep a change of clothes and towels in my vehicle for those spontaneous swims so that I don't have to drive home wet but I can say that doesn't always work as on more than one occasion after changing into dry clothes I have just ended up wading into the water again and soaking my dry change of clothes and ending up haveing to drive home in wet clothes with the heat cranked and my heated seats on high. Not sure why it is but I actually find it feels extra naughty doing it in the winter and get a even bigger rush when doing it. When I get home it usually is straight into a warm bath still in my wet clothes to warm up and also rinse them out before tossing them all into the wash.

I really hate cold weather and feel very uncomfortable with cold and wet clothes. Also I don't care for getting only partly wet like others do, e.g. feet or up to the knees only. I also hate rain. For me it needs to be full immersion or at least up to the crotch for the fun to begin.
So I usually restrict myself to get wet in the bath occasionally and keep waiting for summer.
Another fun winter wet activity is taking a bath fully clothed and then going for a walk outside in the cold weather still wearing all your wet clothes. It is so much fun walking around in the snow and seeing steam coming off your wet clothes as you walk. Last night I went for a 2.19km walk around my neighbourhood in the snow and -12c snowy weather according to my weather app -20c with the windchill. By the time I got home my clothes were making creaking sounds as I walked as there were large patches that had frozen stiff.
