I've been here some time, and I'm finally ready to get started. What would be the essentials toolkit? I already have a style and theme I'm going for - devastated and clobbered, the Gifs will show what I mean! They are from Anglefan and Splat Challenges. Mad Lovers Cosplay, SSStuff, Pie Zone, Messygirl, and other pioneers of mess, you are inspiration too!
Any advice on getting the ball rolling would be appreciated! If there is already a post answering this, please guide me there too, thanks
Good luck! While I personally only use edible pies now, it feels like you're wanting more of the shaving cream aesthetic. That's probably better for full immersion (or turning a girl into an unrecognizable blob of cream and crust!)..... Just be aware that current SC seems to have WAY more chemicals than it did 10 years ago. Even Barbasol, that used to be "sting free," now irritates skin and burns eyes with almost every model I shoot. That's honestly part of the reason I gave it up. So I would say experiment first.... maybe even on yourself.... or try using real whipped cream or Cool Whip.
Also, not to discourage you, but it's an absolutely BRUTAL time to recruit new models. Honestly the worst I've ever seen it. You're gonna need access to a major population center.... deep pockets... and a lot of perseverance. (Or just amass several hundred thousand followers on IG, and then you don't have to worry about anything. )

Rich, first, hello *waves*, your work is amazing!! Second, that is definitely the look I'm going for. I've been experimenting with thinning marshmallow creme to great effect. As long as it stays warm, it's great, it's just keeping it warm...
And in terms of that predicament, dang, I gotta get Insta famous?? Well, if any producers want to collaborate to make this vision easier to bring to fruition, I'm down. I'm a filmmaker, photographer, and editor by profession!
hello, so as far as a simple tool kit i would get a bunch of old towels or beach towels for clean up always good to have extra on hand. If you have the space a small intex pool is Awesome for getting messy in , they are around 50 bucks on amazon and are great for containing the mess they have plenty of space and are relatively easy to clean out. You can't go wrong with a small folding stool as well great prop for sitting on . For prep I got some 1/2 gallon ice cream buckets they are plastic and great for mixing slime. They are a couple bucks filled with ice cream in the store and are great to use and are a great repurpose. Also its worth getting a box of food coloring drops, they are great for coloring cake batter slime and pies. If you keep and eye out around the holidays you can get little color sets for a couple bucks. They have bright ones for Easter and spooky ones for Halloween. Hope this helps some, Also dollar stores are a great place to get tarps/ table cloths for putting down and usually have shaving foam cans for a dollar also pie tins for cheap as well.
Wow, I did not expect this to get over 3,000 views, bit with the momentum behind me, does anyone want to collaborate to make even some form of this happen? Vaxxed and willing to travel a reasonable distance
Haha thanks for the kind words! I can't really call myself a "professional" anything, but I do enjoy the editing process. And I'm always trying to improve the quality of my clips.... The biggest issue is I shoot in a limited space. A "proper" studio space would make a world of difference in terms of lighting, but at this point I'm basically used to working with what I have.... Plus now that a lot of folks are moving towards "shot on a single iPhone" quality, the widescreen/multi-angle approach is a bit more distinctive?
The biggest challenge, honestly, is just finding talent that's sensational AND willing to get messy on camera AND won't break the bank with their rates. Because the days of gorgeous models doing WAM shoots for a couple hundred bucks are (mostly) over. Any female who's driven and knows how to use social media can amass tons of followers and basically generate more income.... on her own, from her bedroom.... than most third parties (from photographers to WAM producers) can offer.
Your best bet would be to use your wife/girlfriend, or hopefully you have a few attractive female friends willing to do this? I think that's the direction the community is heading anyway.... More homegrown WAM produced by the women who enjoy it, less outside models doing it for a buck.

God, it's brutal out here ... Seemed fitting
Well, it's interesting you talk about homegrown wam... it may happen, but not for a few months. All depends on her
Outside of that, and in the meantime, I'm down to assist producers around here with anything. I have lots of ideas and visions, and collaborating with like-minded producers that, already at least have a foot planted, could only help each other in the future, imo
Bless this mess 🙏
