I'm sure it's a coding issue where removing the "+friend" button on your own profile page would be a pain in the ass.

If that's your real main concern make a new email and create a new account. Then you can ramble about how your secondary account is from the same IP and the user is the same so even though the name has changed you are your own best friend. This time there is less marrying your dads stem mom who is the daughter of his wife.
