Anyone have FREE Mac based movie editing software they could suggest? I've HAD IT with pushing through iMovie...... plainly put it sucks bacterially infested pond water.... it slows down my computer and I can't even deal.....
It's free, multi-platform and very powerful - but I think it has a very steep learning curve. I've not tried it out myself but it's a proper professional app. I think they have some tutorials online too.
I tried a few of the free ones and settled on Shotcut. It is open source so no ads and donation only policy. No Watermark! After trying 5 of them! For someone who has minimal apps on my phone, it is good.
You will probably want at least 4GB of ram. I have a refurbished Lenovo PC with Win10 decent CPU and 8GB of ram. When editing one of my 3.1 GB videos I took in MP4 system resources showed less than 4GB of ram usage. Of course the CPU was maxed out when encoding so patience at times. It's not worth overclocking.
Shotcut is different coming from windows movie maker that used to be free. This will take a bit to get used too. watch the tutorial, but once you get it, is good. Just the adjust hump. There is a lot of codec available so perfect for UMD.
