Cleaning up was a big deal for us and we tinkered with some similar things. The general experience was that where there is mud there is also likely to be water. The only improvised shower rig that was ever actually useful was a small battery operated pump that not only got the water overhead but applied enough pressure to remove the gunk. Otherwise you are going to end up just jumping in anyway in order to clean up. It doesn't take much water - I actually had a couple of ladies cleanup up in a rain filled heavy equipment tire rut.
The most useful shower tool we ever found was portable gas water heaters that were used in the remote areas of Camp MPV. Ludella Hahn said we had to have hot showers after a late season night shoot once so we rigged up these things on hand trucks.
Clean up is an important concern. It also led to thousands more photos.
