Tomorrow I go to MD Anderson for this colonoscopy to remove a polyp. As I said before, a biopsy was done on it back in May and on the surface it looked benign. I'm not sure what the results are gonna be but I'm trusting that the doctor will remove the whole polyp from my colon. I'm not concerned too much about that as I am about being under sedation for three hours. My dad had an allergic reaction from anesthesia a long time ago and had a heart attack when he was in the dentist chair. That has been playing on my mind lately as I do have AFIB. I have been clear of it in my last two annual checkups tho. It's always serious when anyone goes under sedation for anything.
I appreciate your thoughts towards me as I begin prepping for this thing today and as my wife and I go over there later today. i have to be at the hospital tomorrow morning at 7:20 CST and they won't start until 8:20. I'll be out of the loop on here from this afternoon and tomorrow. But I will be back here on Thursday!
I hope they have better stuff for you based on your reactions to anesthesia than when I had to go under during COVID. There was an anesthesia shortage and I don't know what they gave me, but man it sucked! I woke up coughing so bad they were worried I got COVID. I was puking the rest of the day. I asked one of the nurses what the fuck they gave me. She said it was a step up from ether but not by much.

Thanks everyone! All went well, no issues with being sedated...it did not take as long as I was told. Only an hour. The doctor removed the whole polyp and another small one. I'm recovering well already but the doctor wants me to take it easy...no heavy lifting so I can at least throw pies and sling mud!
This is great news! I'm glad there were no problems. My colonoscopy was about the same length of time. Afterwards, I basically binge watched TV, ate whatever was already cooked, and napped on the couch - not a bad recovery/holiday weekend (ha).
