Just wanted to let everyone know that Fiverr has removed the pranks and stunts section and do not plan to bring it back. I'm sure there are other methods you guys use when it comes to fiverr, but pranks and stunts was the easiest way to find someone to work with.
They still have the Viral Videos section which the pranks seemed to have moved to. What's got me pissed is that I've spent over $8000 working with various models who advertised on that section, and I received a warning today that I may not contact sellers directly anymore. Email stated that I now must post a request on the Dashboard. Two years of contacting models directly through their pages and now all of a sudden I'm in violation? What will posting a request on the Dashboard do? It will create unnecessary drama. Post request, model contacts you-Now I have to explain to the model why I don't find her attractive...? A somewhat negative report by Vox I'm sure has something to do with the changes. https://www.vox.com/the-goods/2018/12/12/18136703/fiverr-prank-youtube-venezuela
They do seem to be cracking down. I had an email from them last month saying something similar and not an adult site etc. Have had a few hundred messy videos made from quite a few people on there over the past 5 years and spent over $14k with them. Wont be going on there anymore though
As an active seller of digital services on fiverr I can tell you that I think it's done for good. Fiverr implemented several changes to the platform recently. One of which is a new moderation service to help disputes between buyers and sellers. I've talked to many models who've be scammed on fiverr where a buyer refused to pay after a video was shot.
Under the new rules fiverr has to actively monitor all disputes and they don't want to be in he middle of that type of dispute. Fiverr is also becoming more "professional" by allowing existing businesses to bring their clients into the site free of charge and for no cuts. This is to directly compete with Upwork, which takes a 20% cut.
And not to get political, but venuezula is about to have a major issue. Half of the best models I've worked with were from there. They always produced high quality stuff. Think they might be gone for awhile.
But fiverr was fun while it lasted. But I can definitely say that the game is over. Fiverr is trying to acquire a lot of new business and our niche is going to make the service look unprofessional.
