Hi everyone, been here a long time but never posted before so here we go. Apologies if this has been covered before, I had a search but couldn't find anything.
I've always been a fan of seeing women getting gunged and never really considered doing it to myself, but recently I have been thinking about it more & more and then after purchasing some clips I really got the bug for it as it looks so much fun and I'm kinda thinking why not, life's too short right?!
So I've bought myself 30L of gunge and have an opportunity coming up in the next few weeks and I'm just asking for any advice for a first time. Like any little tips or tricks that only come with experience?
Depending where you're planning to do it, expect the gunge to splash much, much further than you expect it to. Protect everything with multiple layers of dust sheets, and make sure to buy the "low density" sheets, the "high density" ones tear as soon as you breathe on them and are rather less useful than chocolate fireguards.
Idk where you got your gunge as I've only used homemade stuff for slime before, but if you're planning on doing something in the bathtub to minimize potentially splashing on household items, make sure the gunge is water soluble and won't clog up your drain. The worst is going to rinse off and realizing you've got to find a way to unclog your drain before you can clean yourself up. Or, if you're outdoors, being mindful of what might be harmful to animal/plant life.
So, depending on where you're doing this, it's worth thinking "ok, what is the worst possible thing that could happen?" and going from there. Like, "what happens if I go to pick up the bucket and my hand slips and I dump the bucket all over the floor?" What's the floor made of and how will you protect it in that situation? Things like that. Plan for the margins and the other stuff tends to be taken care of along the way in my experience.
Keep the room warm! Also remember things will be very slippery once you get started, so try to keep essentials like paper towels, buckets of mess, etc. within arms' reach.

Sorry if this is a stupid question, but if I'm worried about it clogging up the drain (for a couple of reasons, I don't *really* want to be pouring something like gunge down there), how else would you suggest cleaning it up? I wouldn't mind if it was a couple of litres, but 20-30 litres - what can I do with that?

If you don't think your bath/shower drain will handle it, use your toilet, I use a lot of savoury - lots of lumps and semi solids and dumping half a bucket at a time I've never clogged one. But check everything works and flows first.

Use a bucket to scoop most of it down the toilet, flush once for each bucket. Then when there's only a little left in the bottom of the tub, add loads of water to really dilute it, then let that down the plughole, it'll be so dilute it drains just like water. Flush the loo a couple of extra times to clean the pipes out too.
Thanks for all the replies, some of these comments are making even more excited to do it.
Just a couple of other questions,
Does gunge sting in the eyes?
How well does it cool? If all goes to my plan on the day it'll probably be sitting for about 8 hours, will this still be tepid or will it be proper cold? I'm not really fussed it it's cold, happy with either or really, just curious.

Gunge doesn't sting the eyes as badly as say tomato-based stuff does, but it'll all depend on your own sensitivity. You might want to make up a small batch and test first. Most of our people report that it forms a film which then colour-tints their vision, so everything becomes green or pink, but no-one's reported any major discomfort.
8 hours? It'll be absolutely freezing cold. It tends to retain it's heat in the buckets for a while, though even those cool over time. But once you actualy use it, it'll get cold fairly fast.
What are you planning to do for 8 hours - charity event? Usually those are for shorter periods and/or include rest / warm-up breaks, or have several people who rotate in shifts doing an hour or so at a time.
I'd agree with what's being said already and be prepared for it to be much slippier than you think! I was falling all over the bath back into the gunge when I did it which was fun but potentially dangerous

Cool thanks for that, good to know. My eyes are usually ok but I did get something in one the other week and it swelled up like mad so just wanted to know the general vibe on that.
Ha! when you put it like that it does sound crazy. Nah just at home but it's the only window I have without bringing on a load of questions I'm not ready to answer yet. It's either mix it early or just before I do it and was worried it'll be too hot that way.

Ahh see this just makes it sound even more fun that I imagine.
Plan to do it in the bath as a first time. Bought Natrosol so hopefully all should be ok there as my plan was to just rinse off and dilute it away.
Messy pup extra thick gunge is really fun to use and easy to clean up and you can also reuse depending on timing
It may be wise to have swim goggles on depending on what you end up using. Also the set up is really important Temperature outside where you are. When the gunge hits you if you're in a warm spot then walk or clean up in a cold location for example.

Just a quick update, not sure if anyone is bothered but oh well.
Tonight was the night and oh my god, wow! That was incredible! How have I been into this for so long and never done it before??!? Had two full buckets and just went for it, was doing head dunks and everything! Then just laid & played with what was left in the bath for what seemed like hours, felt so amazing & just so much fun.
Thank you to everyone for the tips, felt so much more prepared going into it so cheers for that.
Definitely won't be long before I do it again, no just need to work out how to get the wife involved.
