I'm new here at UMD (but not new to wam) and I have a question that I hope some of you can answer.
I like to wam in synthetic clothes/underwear and so on and I have recently started to think about using finger paint. My problem is that I'm afraid that it won't wash and stain my clothes forever.
Do I need to worry about clothes, skin or shower walls or will it work like a charm? Is there any colors I should avoid to minimize risks? Pro tips?
Do not use acrylic paints and it is possible that the carellage joints, and sometimes the clothes are stained forever (it depends on the pigments and also the clothes). Regarding the skin, shades can also stay 24 to 48 hours ... you have to test your paints on your arm before considering what to do next ... In this photo, the joints of the tiles have remained colored ...
I've been disappointed to find that so called "washable" children's paint - which is, I assume, what you're talking about - does stain skin to some extent. Not irrevocably, but it can take a lot of scrubbing to get it off. I think the same would apply to clothing. Pale colours can be less troublesome, but often aren't very opaque either, so don't look very impressive on skin. To my surprise, the one time I used standard internal wall / ceiling - emulsion - paint I found it much easier to wash off, as well as being much more opaque.

Yup, it's the washable childrens paint that I thought would be the best. But, you say standard house paint is good? Have you tried it with clothes?
I've used childrens paint (tempura paint) a few times - Its stained clothes but not my skin - A little tricky to clean out of tiles (stains the grout), so be quick on the cleanup
If you're using white clothes, you can bleach them to remove the stains. I didn't put much effort into cleaning the clothes either- so other stain removal products may work if you're quick on it.
If you're using house paint or anything similar- check the MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet)- as some of the pigments could be toxic/irritation (childrens paint is fully non-toxic)
