All they're left with to 'enforce' are petty guidelines on consumers about things they've been doing for years with no ill effects. And how many cases of ecoli and salmonella in a 500,000,000 population? Nobody's going to take a look at why the population's immune system is apparently being increasingly degraded and ineffective, are they?...

Trouso, good points there... I've been licking raw cake mix etc from bowls & utensils after baking since being a small child... I'm now in my 30s, still doing it and have yet to be ill, so I'm not worried, and won't change my ways!
As for government departments issuing false warnings as part of a scaremongering campaign, that's not limited to the USA... next they'll be warning us Brexit will cause the Apocalypse... oh wait a minute... the did... we ignored them... everything's fine & we're all still alive

Flour is not processed to kill bacteria. Grains taken directly from the field are ground down to make flour. If an animal takes a dump near some grain it can get its E. Coli all over it, which you then get as the consumer.
But yeah, it's just a warning, not a regulation on flour. People still eat plenty of raw fish every day and don't die regardless of the FDA's warning.
