Just curious to see what people's favourite gunk dunk is. Also give a reason if you can, my favourite is the pumpkins one because the set was darker making the gunge look more nasty plus in my opinion they had the best gyob clothes.
Definitely the series where they had the pumpkins and then the mid 90s.
With the pumpkins series the gunge was thick. The fairground was okay with the "you're gonna get gunged but just how badly?" - but some of the gunge from the top missed the contestants.
The 1997 series was excellent gunged and had some great gungings. Gary was my favourite from this year (the bigger brother who had an earring) and Andres (longish hair football coach). Really thick gunge used.
The other highlight for me was the 1999 Charlie gunging - the hot cousin with the blonde curtained hair.
It was after that the gunge started to become watered down until the very last season where the gunge was poor quality.
My favourite is definitely Chris Webster the footie coach, from the pumpkin era. Perfect slime and such a fantastic coating of thick purple slop over the head. And he had such a winning smile through the gunge as well!
Series 2-4 as gunge nice & thick, with the set adding sense dread to the whole thing. Series 5 with the snot, school custard & R.A.W was good idea but bit like Panel Beaters from NHP the execution let it down slightly by missing the adult or only coating one side of them.
I'm surprised to see 2 votes for the first series gunk dunk. Although the set up was good it was basically water with thin gunge over the chairs, it was still better than the last few series though.
I think series 6 to 10 had the best gunge but I did enjoy series 10 to 13. I liked being on the edge more finding out who would be gunged right at the end. Made the adults squirm more I think
I think there's a few from series 2 and maybe series 3 missing. But there's obviously more from the first series that haven't seen the light of day since 1991. It would also be great to see the entire episode's uploaded from series 1-5 but sadly it look's like nobody has them which i find strange since there seem's to be quite alot of other show's from the early 90's on youtube.

I too liked it when the guys were dangling their legs (socks or bare feet) in the gunk.
The three episodes that really stick in my head are quite far apart I think: 1) Tim Vincent, bare feet, fixed dunk stool thing. That's possibly the precise moment I realised I was gay. 2) Identical twins (tennis coaches I think), both in white socks, one slid into the gunk on the single slide, the other bodily thrown in by studio hands. 3) H from steps. Bit of a weird crush of mine. Bare feet, single slide, went in from a height, made a lot of splashing.
Do you reckon it's legit though? Loads of wind up merchants on the web! I have a sneaky feeling all adults were probably dunked behind the scenes (even better if some of the cute staff were too!) but doubt they made it into tape?
It could be legit since the few that have said they were on gyob in the comment's to the video's have said to be the child, no adult has mentioned it was them. So surely the wind up's would of said by now that it was them gunged?

I bet quite a few of the adults asked the backstage team to 'dunk' them anyway just to make their kid happy. The gunge is there. I bet lots of the backstage team had a go.
Pumpkins one for me!!! Guys & girls, barefeet inches from the steaming thick gunge, and the seat tipped forward rather than dropped so the victims went face and body first, resulting in going completely under!!!! Awesome awesome times!!!!

This format probably had the best gunge, but it still rankles that they didn't go in bare foot ! I loved seeing nervous tension in barefoot gungees in later series, twitching toes etc. The camera angles in this series would have captured it brilliantly.
Nowhere near as bad as the year they went in wearing trainers though
I never liked the trainer's series either, which is a shame since it had some good gunging's plus the gunge was thick too. I think it would've been better if they'd kept the pumpkins gunk dunk but made it deeper as the series went on
Looks as though he dives in before chair tips at an angle.
Personally feel the series after this one or the one after that, the consistency of the gunge starts to go down hill as by final couple series it was nowhere near as good as it once had been.
